How long do you want to ignore this user?
I know this is posted in the other crime thread, but just thought it would be good to get as many eyes on this as possible..

Please consider donating to Nhung Truong's GoFundMe Account below. She is a 44 year old mother of three who lost her husband to cancer just a few years ago.

She is guilty of pulling out $4,300 in cash that she had saved over time so that she could make a trip back to Vietnam to visit family, when some violent monster decided to follow her 20+ miles across town to take it from her. But he couldn't just take it from her, he had to body slam her, severing her spine, to the point it would take an actual miracle to walk or function again.

The goal of $120k does not seem sufficient for something like this. With three children under 20, and no father around, they could use all the help they can get.

Donated so I can soap box. It's absurd what this city has come to. This nearly happened to someone on my team at work. They followed him from a bank on I-10 and into our gated office complex and tried to pop the trunk on him. Fortunately he stayed cool and just drove out of the complex and lost them. The response from the bank was "oh ya that happens a lot".

If I run a ****ty unsafe business, I pay for it out the ass through worker's compensation and sky-high premiums. Our appointed magistrates get to sit on their ass and hand out PR bonds like girl scout cookies while our elected judges are allowed to have their open case backlog nearly double since 2016, which is what allows criminals to PR bond out, and then run rampant for 2 years until they have a trial.

I bet if the commissioner's court (who won't fund additional prosecutors), magistrates, and judges compensations was offset by the cost of the preventable incidents that occur because of their incompetence, intentional or unintentional, they would put in some effort to make a change. I guess this is what the voters want though, so here we are.

Agreed. To make matters even worse...with this particular type of crime, it just seems like a numbers game to me. Hardly anyone deals in or carries cash anymore, compared to the past. And it seems like there is a greater chance that someone pulsing out cash these days is getting a large amount for a special transaction or situation, as opposed to just $20-80 bc they like to buy every day goods in cash.

I see a small fraction of the people at ATM machines that I used to. So not only do people stand out more when doing so, there are just fewer of them at large for violent thugs to prey on, worsening their odds.

I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me. Reminded my wife today to be very careful and alert when getting cash, and when getting home afterwards. A woman going to the ATM machine seems like just about the easiest prey there is for these pieces of sh**, sadly. Especially after driving 10-20+ minutes back home or to wherever they are going and naturally being distracted by other things and letting their guard down.

No way I wouldn't carry heat pretty much everywhere I could if I was a woman.

I donated from another link. I think the Go Fund Me said there's a 50-50 chance she'll make a full recovery. That's not great odds, but better than I would have thought after seeing the video of her attack.

Now there's an edit saying the recovery will take longer than expected. I sure hope she makes a full recovery.

Yes, and everyone working at the bank that day. This is what the FBI Houston office Should be doing now.
And Federal charges every time for any bank jugger and bank employee helping. Take this out of the local joke of a criminal system and into the federal court where it should be.

Sadly you are correct. But it all depends on what district you are talking about.
The Beaumont Federal Court is doing a great job of taking out the trash.

Wow! Congratulations to HPD for finding them and making arrests. I didn't think there was a chance that would happen. Now let's see if they stay in jail.

I do all of my cash withdrawals at the ATM. The one time in 2 years that I went to the teller to get specific denominations, I got followed back to work, through the gate, and broke into my car. Despite a camera with the license plate, the employer, the police, and the bank didn't care. Just chalked it up to criminal mischief, and handed me a shop vac so I could clean up their parking lot and all the glass inside my car. Fortunately I had the money on me, but I have no doubt they would have assaulted or killed me if I had gone home instead of back to work. And it was beyond coincidental that it happened after a teller transaction.

Spoke with a DPS officer on this. It's hard to prevent because there are many and the suspects haven't committed any crimes until the end. Watching someone withdraw cash at an ATM isn't illegal. Seems like there must be something that can be done though, happening way to often.

I didn't know AirPods could do that.

Not sure that's the main issue. Seems like the banks should be confronted about their tellers.

You're giving these criminals too much credit. 90% of they time, they're just watching parking lots and ATMs for people withdrawing large amounts or walking out with envelopes. Sometimes they're inside grocery stores or Walmarts or other locations with in-store branches watching. In a few cases, they know a business owner is transferring a lot cash to/from their business. It's very rare that a teller is involved. If it were more common, you'd be hearing about it.
Username checks out.

Nonsense. Banks handle these matters internally. If they have rogue tellers, they just fire them. They aren't turning surveillance video over to LEO without a warrant.

Happened to me last Wednesday. I occasionally need to get small bills before a vacation and am not sure what I'm going to do next time. I was lucky that I had to make a stop along the way, so they didn't follow me home.

An update. It's unbelievable what this kid said in a jail interview. What a total piece of ****, talking bad about a woman he is accused of paralyzing and her GoFundMe.
