Feels like this type of stuff is becoming more frequent and hitting closer to home more and more lately. Also feels like it's only going to get worse before it gets better. Hope I'm wrong.

This is very close to my home. Shot, killed, and ran over a damn near 70 year old for some Mitsubishi SUV… I've heard it may have been her grandson. Hope they catch these POSes soon and lock them up / throw away the key.

I live in the neighborhood. It's chilling how close in time it was to kids walking to school (they literally were closing the doors to start school).

After they stole the car they fled at a high rate of speed. Could have absolutely ran a kid over.

Hope they find the subhuman scum and set them on fire

Yep, you know violent crime is getting out of control when they start hinting at the suspect's race (if black).

It's not public yet, but they are looking for the grandkids.

2ND UPDATE: Officers have located the female victim's vehicle abandoned in an empty business garage at 11996 Bissonnet St.

These are the 2 WANTED male suspects. 1 appears to be wearing a Champion hoodie.

Detectives have learned the 2 wanted suspects were at the apartment complex for at least 7 hours prior to the fatal shooting and believe it was not a random incident.

Victim white or black? Kids in the ring video look white to me. Questioning the grandson thing. So they waited 7 hours for the victim? Hmmm. Pre-meditated.

I'd guess that grandma had either cut funding or he followed a bad friend down the wrong path.
Either way, I am sorry that she had to endure that suffering, and losing her life to a senseless act.

Victim told the grandson his girlfriend had to move out of the apartment. Family was white. Grandson is in the video with long hair.

This one hit really close to home - literally. This city is out of control. Daughter and 8 of her friends rode right by there on bikes on way to Wilchester Elementary minutes before this happened. Thankful the kids were not hurt.

'Chester is a very family friendly, leave it to beaver type of community. Tons of families, kids on bikes all over the neighborhood, really just a throw back to the 80's and 90's way of growing up. Those apartments are at least 50% full of residents of the neighborhood who are remodeling or building new homes in the neighborhood who want to be close to the school. Crazy that this tragedy happened there.

Have to believe it was a close contact. No thug steals a Mitsubishi eclipse when there are Range Rovers, Escalades, Navigators a plenty to choose from in the immediate area.

Wilchester resident here. No way that grandson is not involved. Give me a break and I'm sure most people see through that rag of a story. **** maya shay (sp).

If you were a wagering man, would you say the gate clicker was on the key ring or sitting on top of the console?

We lived there about 13-14 years ago when we first moved into the hood. Gate was on a sensor to exit at that time and a keypad to enter if I remember correctly. They were not waiting on that to kick in is my guess.

So did this actually happen "near" a school, or was that y'all just sensationalizing this incident to make it hit closer to home?

No. The apartments are directly across the street from the school. All entrances and exits to the anpartments are swarming with kids walking and riding bikes to school between 7:25 and 8:00 each morning.

Yep, as other have said, thank God this didn't happen at that time. Place is swarming on some days before and after school.

What I hope doesn't happen is for neighborhood people to react as if this is the new norm and change their habits in any way. It is always refreshing driving or biking through that neighborhood and seeing how many kids still ride bikes and play outside together. You don't see that in a lot of neighborhoods. Reminds me of growing up directly "across the tracks" from there.
