I frequently drive by an old funeral home on the east side of town. They opened a new location and moved. The old location/building sat empty for a few years. Today I saw that the old building is now being used as a commercial kitchen for Tejano Salsa and tamale company!

I went to the salsa website and, sure enough, they reference their kitchen on Broadway! WTH?! Is this not revolting??

I don't think I'll eat another tamale in Houston again...

Someone link a starry bra for me- TIA

those guys used to be in a strip center at Westbury Square.

Heard they finally gave up on that spot after getting broken into a half dozen times.

Maybe they think a funeral home is a less likely target?

Chipotle on 610 East of Ella is sitting where a funeral home used to be. It was a Smart Financial branch in between and we used to have smoke brakes in the hearse carport/loading slot when a buddy worked there. The bank moved to a new building on the other side of 610.

There is a pretty cool restaurant in Denver called Linger that is in an old funeral home that was called olingers. They have an awesome roof top bar.

Linger is great. Was a regular for me when I was commuting there weekly for work. Ubered to LoHi most nights to hit up all those places because it wasnt a homeless wasteland like downtown.

Wasnt there an old funeral home on kirby that turned into a bougey then ghetto club? Then they tore it down for those high rises by Kirby and Richmond.

Although that was a mortuary, which would be more unnerving than just a funeral home to OP I bet

Fun fact: Most people who die in Houston pass through the doors of a non-descript, unmarked building on W 34th Street.

I mean it shares a parking lot with a funeral home. So not exactly nondescript. Especially when they have refrigerated 18 wheelers as well.

Unless they've built another I'm not aware of.

They don't have the 18-wheelers anymore. They did have to expand the cold cooler a few years back, though. The cold cooler was the best on hot days.

There's an old Pizza Hut on Texas in Bryan that is now a funeral home.
