I've been volunteered to help the church with a barbecue in early March. I found out we have a smoker trailer that hasn't been used in a while and the old fellers that used to run it have passed on. Is there a 'store' or stand in NW Houston or NW Harris that sells cords of firewood?

Thanks in advance, Tine Board.

Buy mine from a place called The Wood Chop on Pinemont and Bingle (just east of Pinemont and 290).

They've got any smoking wood you may need and they'll sell it you by the full, 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8 of a cord.

Cash only

I avoid this place at all costs

I bought wood here one time and it did nothing but hiss and wouldn't burn for shlt. Next time I thought oh musta been a bad batch so i gave it another shot and more of the same. Have buddies with similar experiences.

Never again. I'll go to Academy and buy the bags of wood before I go back to Williams.

Type in "firewood" on facebook marketplace and about 300 places will pop up, pick one that is close to you and convenient.

If you just need a couple bags of a variety of woods (pecan, hickory, mesquite etc.) you can get it at Smitty's on 2978 just south of 2920.
I feel so much better since about 11 a.m. CT on 20 Jan. 2025

+1 for this place (although I didn't know they actually had a name). There's no building and the guy is normally just sitting around on the right side of the lot near his truck. His Pecan and Post Oak are pretty on point. I've had mixed results with his hickory unless I season it for a few months first. I've seen fruit woods there a few times but have never tried them.

I am located in the Bellville/Sealy area. I have several hickory and post oak trees that are down on my property. I am pushing them into a pile to burn. You are more than welcome and come out to my ranch and cut all you want for FREE. If interested my contact email is elox05@yahoo.com.

way way overpriced. But they do sell good racks.

Bought a half cord of oak from them in April 2022 and it sat in racks covered since then and still burns like crap.

Switched to Werner - same great delivery service and much lower prices

The OP is looking for wood for one smoke.
