Son's dad is coming for Senior Night and they want Indian food. It's not my favorite cuisine, so other than a place up here in Spring that I've heard is good, I've got nothing.

Anyone have any recommendations? In town or burbs is fine.

Unless it's Sugar Land I'm not trusting Indian food in the burbs. Head into town and hit Kiran's or Himalaya.

India's on Richmond between Fountanview and Chimney Rock has been around for a long time. It's where my family and I go when we want Indian that's not from my mom's kitchen. It's traditional restaurant Indian food, not a fancy or fusion place.

Nirvana is good, I like the sikh place on 34th too

Used to think Nirvana was good. After living overseas in Singapore and UK for years and then moving back I realise Nirvana is Indian food geared towards an American palate. Can't stand it now.

Aga's or Himalaya on the SW side. Pondicheri if you want something closer to downtown. Kiran's if you want American-ized Indian at River Oaks prices.

Palette off of 99 and Rayford is good if you don't to go into town. If you don't want to leave your bubble, you can go to Amrina in The Woodlands.

I already know from friends that Amrina is too pricey for them.

I was going to recommend Palette for if you need to stay in Spring.

Waitstaff at Pondicheri will ignore you if you aren't buying a bunch of alcohol.

If you want a nice casual place with quick, excellent food, go to Raja Sweets on Hillcroft. It's basically Indian fast food and a dessert counter. Get a pound of kaju katli to go.

I think London Sizzler at 59 and Hillcroft is good.

Pondicheri is good but yeah, what RTT said.

Aga's is a favorite of one of my kids and their friends.

Probably more Pakistani, but Bismillah on Hillcroft is excellent.

Kiran's isn't worth the hype and cost. It used to be, but no longer.

Don't know what you will find in Spring.

There are feather Indian restaurants?

Go to New Mexico. Then try and forget the experience entirely because Native American "cuisine" is terrible.

It's like if someone named an American restaurant "Guitar".
