I've had several solar quotes and the best quote I've received (based on shoddy assumptions to begin with) was $0.14 per kWh to cover 100% of my existing need for 25 years. Doesn't make sense.
I am not sure who you are getting quotes from, but I just got a quote for solar plus a 22kw Generac backup generator from a poster here on Texags that would cover 100% of my existing needs for 25 years at ~ $0.126/kWh. They didn't break it out separately, but I am assuming without the backup generator, the solar price alone would be ~$0.096/kWh. Neither cost takes into account the 26% federal tax credit. Panels are guaranteed to produce 83.5% of rated output in year 30 and have a 25 year warranty on the panels.Ducks4brkfast said:

Do you mind sharing where you got the quotes from?txags92 said:I am not sure who you are getting quotes from, but I just got a quote for solar plus a 22kw Generac backup generator from a poster here on Texags that would cover 100% of my existing needs for 25 years at ~ $0.126/kWh. I got a quote via Howdyags12! howdyags12!'s profile | TexAgs I won't post the company he works for or his name, since he sent that to me in private, but based on my personal background digging, the solar company has a good reputation and has been around a long time, starting as an electrical contractor. Reach out to him via PM and I bet he would be glad to talk to you and get you a quote.drwong said:Do you mind sharing where you got the quotes from?txags92 said:I am not sure who you are getting quotes from, but I just got a quote for solar plus a 22kw Generac backup generator from a poster here on Texags that would cover 100% of my existing needs for 25 years at ~ $0.126/kWh.
