I didn't pay much attention to this case as we saw the normal cries about injustice from the usual suspects like Quanell X and the like. HDP stated the suspect was reaching back into his car when he was shot and the guy was wanted for multiple felonies I believe so, it's not like it was some major loss.

However the video they have released doesn't seem to fully back up how things went down.



The camera is being worn by the officer that shoots him. As you can see, he shoots while in mid sentence and says "oh s***" immediately after shooting with a surprised tone. It looks more like the officer accidentally shot the guy.

So Pulp Fiction I shot Marvin in the face style.

Hell of a shot for an accidental shot.

I took the "oh ****" as "oh ****, this guy's face just exploded" - like surprised at where his round went, assuming he was aiming for center mass.

mmm, I dunno. the officer was out of his car quick and barely got his gun pointed at the guy. the oh s*** sounds like he didn't mean to pull the trigger yet.

I took it that way as well. Big difference between "oh ****" (I didn't mean to do that) and "oh shiiiiiiit" (astonishment).

Does the fact that he was a felon in possession of a firearm fleeing law enforcement mitigate or is this cop screwed?

The basic training of don't have a finger in the trigger will demolish him here. Possibly a man charge coming.

I took the "oh xxit" to mean he didn't intend to pull the trigger. That corresponds with how quickly he fired.

The cop won't beat the ride, but if I were on the jury he'd beat the rap.
