Looking at starting the process of building a pool and outdoor kitchen. Any recommendations on who to use, or who to avoid? In the woodlands if that matters, but figured most area builders cover the entire area.

Seems like Texas Pools (built both neighbors), Miramar, and Township get good reviews specific to the woodlands. Any others?

We used Aqualife pools, half way done with the build. I live in Harris county so the longest part of the process was waiting on permits and reroute of gas line.

Excavation began 2.5 weeks ago, coping and tile went up last week with plaster going up this week.

Middle of the road price with efficient work, pool and patio should be don't by memorial weekend

P.S.

Used them, even though I got other quotes, because a coworker of them had a good experience when he built a pool in spring

Has the market calmed down at all? My understanding as of recent was $80-$90k only got you a hole in the ground w/o any bells and whistles.

We built 10 yrs ago and the price had essentially doubled if not more.

Northside Pools. The are out in Tomball close to The Woodlands. They have built all my friends pools and mine.

We're probably a year or two from doing a pool at the new house but how do folks typically pay? Do they do a home equity line of credit, cash-out refi, pay cash, or are there other loan products out there?

My cousin does pools up in the dfw area. They are just now getting their 2021 backlog knocked out due to lack of materials.

Not sure if the situations are similar here, but be prepared for a long wait between agreement and finished build

Safe to assume you'd do outdoor living + kitchen as well? Looking to do a build with kitchen, fireplace, etc. within the next 12-18 months but no idea what to budget at this point.

We basically live in our backyard at this point with the pool and haven't been happier. Even if the place we bought didn't have a pool already here I could easily justify the ridiculous expenditure for the increase in QoL.

Instead of squared design, ask for a rounded edge in hot tub that is much more comfortable to lean on.

Bringing this back up. We are exploring the idea, but we are concerned about access. Both sides of our house have about a 6-7ft entry path to the backyard. Is that enough space to get an excavator back there?

We had to pay extra for rental of a mini excavator that fit through our 6' wide rear garage door. I'm told there's something even smaller, too. Otherwise, it's pay a lot more for hand dig.
