Has anyone done this recently? I know it's not a smart investment at all so not really looking for a lecture, but wondering how much one would expect something nice-but-not-too-fancy like the below to run these days? A friend of mine was saying you are looking at $80k minimum for a basic pool, which is hard to believe, but wanted to check with the H-Tine-Hold-It-Dine braintrust.

$80K floor probably isn't crazy when you include a hot tub and the landscaping.

80 is high, but things are crazy right now.

I have no idea on costs but am curious. On a side note, I would never plant crepe myrtles that close to a pool. I love crepe myrtles, but when flowering the amount of mess in your pool would be insane I would think.

Dont know about full install, but my resurface with pebble tech for pool and hot tub, cool decking application around and new heater was 18k in 2019.

Mine was finished March 2020(perfect timing) and was 90k. I would say I used a more boutique design company for my build. Other quotes for the same build came in 100k+.

Parents put one in last year using Anthony Sylvan and cost them 70k. Not as nice finishing touches and did cool decking versus my travertine tile deck.

60K is probably the a reasonable floor. but you will spend more.

The flowers aren't so bad. It's the fuggin seed pods that kill you.

80k is going to be hard to find for pool like that in 2022.

A neighbor built something like that last year for less but, not a quality build or equipment.

Not far off at all. Friend of mine is having one built in SW Houston. 90-100k. Nothing fancy from what I understand.

ETA: There was an outdoor kitchen component to his build, not sure what the additional cost there is/was but I'm betting it puts him in line with your quote.

What is basic? I paid $37k last year, but that's a 12x17' rectangle with a small wall for 3 sheer descent. No hot tub, no heater, no deck.

Took a while too. Went under contract Nov. 2020 and they didn't even start until May 2021. Finished sometime in September so we got a couple of weeks of swimming before it was too cold.

We had one quoted back in September. 152K

Should clarify....that included an infinity style hot tub and outdoor kitchen. Regardless, we thought it was excessively expensive

this was a mockup they did of ours. the pool and the concrete surround. lounging deck, and small wall with 1 foot waterfall.

12x17???

Should have added a heater and it would have cost nothing to heat that thing year round.

Did one in 2020 before the price increases. Came in around 55k for 95 linear foot (15k gallon) geometric shape w/ backing wall and 3 sheer descents, hot tub, chiller, automation, pebble finish, and a few hundred sqft of travertine decking. Went with small builder.

Estimate that'd be at least 70k with same builder right now.

He was about 15k cheaper than other bigger builders at the time.

Just move to a house that already has one.

That was maybe an $80k pool pre-covid. That's a $100k pool now.

Has anyone done a fiberglass pool? Obviously cheaper but don't want it to look like shlt and hurt resale.

or a shipping container pool? These can be really cool and I wish we planned for this as we could have an elevated deck as we step out going around the fancy above ground pool.

those shipping container pools would look cool in an ultra-modern home in some exotic locale, but I think it would totally stick out in your standard home.

Yes, I added a heater myself. And deck. I was just giving the price for the pool. We had it heated pretty much the whole last week of December when it was warm.

This is the design video they made.

Best picture I had on my phone. We still have the landscaping next to the fence to do.

I'm thinking something like that with maybe another square area jutting off of it. Very simple is all I want and need. Who built it?

Around $43K for a simple ~12,000 gallon 14'x26' rectangular pool, pebble sheen, no heater, 3' decking around in Fall 2020.

Edit to say our coping (Leuder's limestone) was a relatively significant upgrade from the standard travertine or similar. Would have been mid to low 40s otherwise.

I follow a pool group on Facebook. I'm betting that pool is closer to 100k+ and you're looking about 8 months out to start. Covid pricing is a thing.

Pricing is absurd for pools and patios. I'm past design and was about to start construction, but I think I'm going to hold off and see if it cools down - $100+ Is correct for a pool

Aggie friend put one in last year near Rice/Med Center with no heater or hot tub. $80k plus.

We put one in last year in Katy. 15,000 gallon with a hot tub (38' length, 20' wide at widest point but free form), lots of decking/patio, and a sidewalk to the gate. $80K-ish
