Since my review of Pipers BBQ earlier this week was so popular I've decided to maybe do more restaurant reviews of places I've not seen discussed.

My reviews will be one word that encompasses the food, atmosphere, and people. One word. That's it.

So good people of the Houston forum here on TexAgs dot com I bring you my review of Candente. It's a Mexican place on Richmond near Montrose.

How about one word each for food, people, and atmosphere? I couldn't give a **** about people or atmosphere.

Agree. Solidly good place

But are you gonna sit down with the owners to tell them how to run their businesses based on your review?

If not then GTFO

I actually ate there for the first time last weekend. I found it to be better quality than a place like el tiempo or pappasitos. And slightly cheaper too. The green salsa was fantastic. Food was all freshly made. Fajitas were marinated and seasoned just right. Wife enjoyed the bone marrow that came on the side of her taco dish. Charro beans were good too. Overall I'd give it a notch up a spot on your scale. Highly recommend it for a try. Parking garage nextdoor was convenient too. But it wasn't crowded when we went. So I don't know if it is helpful in busy times.

I would rate it a notch higher, from my experiences.

When owners ask for that kind of feedback they usually want more than one word... just FYI.

Tried it for the first time a few weeks back and can't wait to go again. Same owners as the Pit Room down the street. Their brisket enchiladas, made with pit room brisket, may be the best enchiladas I've ever had. Queso and margs are on point as well.

It's been a few months since we've been but enjoyed it. I will say I wanted more of the pit room bbq influence in the menu. I only really remember the brisket enchiladas and brisket nachos. I went really hoping for some pulled pork enchiladas or tacos.

Well if you start by demanding free food it's only fair for them to expect your review to utilize at least the majority of a tweet's character limit

I was referencing Chris Shepard's smackdown to tone deaf instagram "food critics" who were demanding free stuff back in like April

This review lacks solidity to the point of being a runny mess.

What day/time did you try it? I never see many people there for lunch. Hopefully they'll make it work. It doesn't seem like a great restaurant location. I'm sure it doesn't help that the office building is probably half empty right now.

Love that place, IMO the grilled flavor creeps into a lot of their food, which to me is great. Gives it a unique twist on a lot of typical Tex-Mex dishes. Carnitas are excellent, and the Birria Tacos are decadent. Highly recommend.
