My homeowners policy is ridiculously expensive. Any companies/agents you recommend?

Casey @ Goosehead is awesome. Filed a claim for an auto incident last year, they were a big help. He shops around for me every year and the rates are competitive.

Grab an instant quote at www.TGSinsurance.com

Quote will be for 1% AOP and 2% W/H, but they can customize coverages after the fact if they're in the ballpark.

Crazy increases are happening everywhere that has real weather impact in TX.

AAA. It was surprisingly cheaper than TGS Insurance.

I also worked with Goosehead. Good experience. Emily Schroeder was my contact there.

Matt at DIMI Texas saved us quite a bit when we switched. 512-292-3650.

i've heard a ton of good about Gooseheed but Bryan at Liere keeps doing well for me, so i've stayed with them.

Hit up a sponsor or 3 on Real Estate board, they are brokers and will shop around for you

I was with Liere for 5+ years through the recomendation of this board. We recently shopped with who we had our car insurance through, and were able to save a considerable amount. I understand this was a bundled discount, but when we looked at comparing bundled discounts, State Farm came out best for us shockingly.

there are really two considerations when purchasing insurance - #1 your cost, #2 the likelihood your insurance company will not screw you on a claim.

#2 is the part that can cause you real headaches. Not all insurance companies are created equal.

I forgot I started this thread. I appreciate the recommendations. I had someone recommend Ehlers Insurance to shop around for me. They got me a quote from Safeco (Liberty Mutual) that saves me money and keeps me well insured. I haven't made my decision yet. Anyone used Liberty Mutual?

We got a very good deal from Lemonade.

Thanks for reaching out, and I appreciated working with you. I became a sponsor in May 2020 after all the support we received on the Houston board, thank y'all.

Just wrapped up a $100,000 claim with USAA over a clogged sewer line causing my toilets to overflow. Needless to say I will never complain about their prices again. Almost switched about a month before the incident but got lazy and just renewed. Wasn't worth the hassle to save $300/year

$100K for overflowing toilets? What all was damaged (or should I say wasn't damaged)?

I have a friend who went to Vietnam for Christmas. Toilet feed line on his third floor (townhouse in the heights) broke and the neighbors started trying to contact them when they noticed water running out the garage... bet that was 6 figures!

Well anything that sewer water touches has to be replaced. It wasn't the toilet flushing that did it but the washing machine and dishwasher draining and coming out of the toilet. I took 40 gallons of water out of my kitchen and master bathroom. They fought me on the tile but when my contractor showed them there was mold under the tile they had no choice. Once you pull up one piece you have to pull them all or it won't match.

We got every square inch of our downstairs floor replaced with wood or carpet and a brand new master bathroom. Best 40 gallons of poo poo water ever.

I wasn't even going to file a claim. My plumber talked me into
