Freshwater fish for those that aren't familiar with cichlids. I'm looking for American cichlids

Paratheraps fenestratus
Paratheraps guttulatus
Vieja zonatus
Vieja bifasciatus

I'm trying to avoid another expensive purchase through Don Conckels Tropicals. Great fish and company, but I'd like something that's local. I'm in College Station

Fish Gallery, Fishland, and City Pets have pretty good selection of freshwater fish and plants. Not sure about some of the others in town since they specialize in saltwater.

no clue on C.S., but Fish Gallery in Houston on Fountainview is the go-to place around here for fish.

Might try Fish R Us in Conroe..

Go catch all the Rio Grande cichlids you want in virtually any ditch holding water.

On my way there now and will hit up the others after.
