Wife has been experiencing stomach issues for a month now.
Immediately went to Urgent care and they said food poisoning.
Then went to Houston Methodist PCP, he said acid reflux put her on meds, didn't help..
She's seen the GI team at Houston Methodist now for a couple weeks and they can't figure things out.
And what is making it worse is the poor experience with scheduling/nurses/resident dr, etc.
We have had the Dr tell us and appt will be scheduled soon for a procedure, only to realize days/week later, someone dropped the ball and an appt was not made. This has happened several times. Very frustrating.
She's had CT scan, utrasound, MRI and endoscopy. Trying now to get one of those 24 hour impedance ph tests scheduled. Wife has lost 20 pounds in 5-6 weeks.

Anyway, now we want to have someone else take a look.

Whatsayyou Texags, any recommendations?

Dr. Wolf

He's helped my wife when she came back with a nasty stomach bug from Peru/Mexico.
Also hes been guiding me through living and adjusting to Ulcerative Colitis. He's very thorough, asks many questions and finds the best treatment for you.

Wife had similar issues. Look into Gastrointestinal paresis. Hard to diagnose. Muscles in the stomach stop move food through.

Went to dr Xavier in the woodlands figured it out after months of other doctors.

I second the Houston Digestive & Liver rec. my doc is/was Hamat. Excellent. He also plays cool classic rock in the OR when he does surgery.

Wolf is a good guy. Also John Dugan at Medical Clinic of Houston. Personal friend and have sent many people his way with nothing but outstanding feedback.

Our toddler daughter has this diagnosis. Curious to know how your wife handles it as an adult. She has GJ-tube for nutrition.

Thanks for the recommendations.

She went and saw Dr Zafar and he is having her continue to take a med..
She had a colonoscopy at his office last week and all good, one small polyp removed.

Still no diagnosis.

She is from Taiwan and decided to some research over there on their websites and thinks she could possibly have Autonomic Dysfunction (Dysautonomia). It seems there are more discussions and doctors treating the condition in Asia than here in the US.

Just found out my older sister is having similar symptoms (lost 20+ pounds), stomach issues after she eats, lost appetite because of that, low energy, and has been through several GI doctors and a PCP and had many tests as well and no diagnosis.

My wife and sister's issues started out of nowhere... prior to that, neither had any issues in their life. Very strange!
