Forgot all about that. He's straight balling it sounds like. River Oaks for when he wants to entertain, Post Oak for when he wants to get away from everyone, and then Woodland Heights when wants a little attention.

Then there's the yacht in Galveston. Life is good for Tillman.
He's about to lose it all.

He said he could probably weather it out till the end of the year if he had to but not longer.

I would wager my definition of losing it all and Tillman's definition are pretty dramatically different.

He may shutter some Bubba Gumps here and there but he's gonna he just fine.

as leveraged as he is, Tilman will be totally ****ed if things don't bounce back fairly quickly.

He's not paying 15% for debt right now because "he's going to be just fine"

This

He didn't have any cash to buy rockets so basically put up whole value of his company to be the sole owner of it.

If things don't go back to normal quickly he's boned.

Once again I think our definitions are off and my hyperbole might not be coming through.

Sure he's levered but the banks don't really want those assets. Tillman didn't screw up in those operations. The economy put him in that situation.

I think Tillman will negotiate with his lenders because they have no other choice. They're in the same boat together.

He's certainly going to lose some restaurants but I bet he keeps half or so. Right or wrong the dude can operate. Question his ethics and aggressiveness but he's built an empire.

Five years from now I bet there's still a sizable Landry's Corporation, he owns the Rockets, and he owns all the personal property discussed in this thread.

If he loses it all it doesn't matter to me but we're all gonna be pretty bad off if there's no Bubba Gumps, Joes Come Get Crabs Shacks, and most important no more neon blue Ferris wheels. Not because we can't go there but because the economy took a serious dive.

Like we need Col Nathan Jessup on that wall we also need Tillman running mediocre ass chain restaurants that people somehow flock to.

What I read is he had $3.3 billion in cash and used $2.2 billion to buy the Rockets. He may have levered his restaurants to buy the Rockets but he has true ownership of the Rockets.

Once again he may be screwed in losing a bunch of mediocre ass chain restaurants but personally he's gonna have some cash, the Rockets, prime personal real estate, and a big ass yacht.

I don't think we're gonna see Tillman move to the less desirable part of the Dirty Branch and take a job as a bartender at Pluckers.

I could be wrong though.

Yeah I agree. Rich guys that go bankrupt (not including rappers and athletes) still always seem to be rich on the other end... Not saying he'll declare bankruptcy, but even if he did...he'll be fine (and rich).

I didn't say he would be in the poor house. My response was to the comment that "he might lose (such and such location) here and there".

Tillman makes his living off of purchasing restaurants concepts from folks that got overleveraged. The same thing can happen to him.

Absolutely agree but I still contend even if Tillman "loses it all" his stockpile of cash will be a solid multiple more than everyone that post on this board's stockpile of cash.

I think we're arguing relatives here. Tillman is going to live a very comfortable life no matter what happens in this economy compared to normal people.

That's assuming he hasn't done anything illegal that would put him in jail. I personally believe his only crime is suckering in people to a mediocre food experience thinking it's better than it is.

My last statement obviously exempts those that get any kind of action on the neon blue Ferris wheel at the Downtown location of his Aquarium franchise. They're not suckers at all. They're the real winners in Tillman's mediocre ass chain empire.

Flores is RO at Inwood - his pad is unbelievable. He bought Oscar Wyatt's house and Lloyd Bentsen's. There is also another house on the lot. He tore down Bentsen's to build an enormous pool and gardens

Also Hildebrand is next door to Tillman
What do you boys want for breakfast BBQ ?.....OK Chili.

Tilman will be fine. He said he can last until the end of the year under current conditions, and the worst case scenario isn't that bad. He'll take the opportunity to dump the bad locations and leases, and it's not like the good locations have better options other than wait until he pays. It's not like there are other restaurateurs out there in a better position.

What he needs is casinos to open back up...that's the majority of his cash flow.

His only regret is probably all the acquisitions he made right as everything went to ****. Del Friscos is pretty awesome, but he probably could have gotten it a lot cheaper.

This across the board. At this point, a massive amount of businesses are cash flow insolvent. The likely best outcome for banks and other lenders is to figure out a viable way to return to performing on loans as before (or as close as is possible).

Oh, and I'm sure the Duncan family has some real estate in RO.

Update on Tilman's house in Woodland Heights - it's been quiet there lately.
I was walking by as somebody used the keypad lock to get into the driveway. I asked him if Tilman had sold and he confirmed that it sold to "a real person". So somebody new will be moving in.
I guess Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous in Woodland Heights has left us.

Yeah I see it in the county clerk records - just how the hell is it hidden on HCAD's site (the address is anyway)? HCAD is already unique in that it lets owners keep their name hidden...but you can also hide the address?

Family trust sold the home to Jim Crane, who is set to tear it down and build a new home on the property. Kind of a shame because that property is beautiful. My mother worked for Fayez for 35 years and has kept in touch with a couple of the children. The old guard of River Oaks is out and now is filled with loud mouth bad sports owners (not talking about Crane), prosperity gospel preachers, and other loonies.
