You can see how many election day precincts are counted. The bulk of voting was most likely done early.

The percent voted is based on total registration, which is irrelevant.

It must really be a huge margin early !

Seems voters really did think Conservative Results Matter
Maybe the local swamp is starting to dry up.

Big loss for the Link letter crew as well.

Absolutely loathe the Lowry and Hotze factions.

They would find a reason to vote against Goldwater, Buckley or Reagan for a few dollars in their pocket.

Kathaleen Wall didn't make the runoff because people voted against her, rather than for Roberts or Crenshaw after her media portrayed her as batsheet ham sandwich crazy and her debate performances proved that she was as dumb as a post.

Roberts lost this race because he was discovered to be a puppet of trial lawyers and a buffoon compelled by his Crenshaw attack ads.

Will be interesting to see what happens with his state seat next go round, assuming he'll try and hold onto it

Roberts lost long before the attack ads. This thing was over by the time of the SD conventions...the grassroots had rallied behind Crenshaw by then. And the grassroots is who shows up at runoff elections.
The story isn't that [DeSantis] "couldn't win" the primary. The story is that an overwhelming majority of our population is heinously stupid. 50% of them vote for communists. 75% of the remaining 50% vote for Trump, who cant win. When the majority of the opposition party insists on voting for an opposition candidate who can't win, you get exactly the government you deserve. - Well Endowed Ag

Congrats to Mr. Crenshaw. He will win easily in Nov., and with his age and resume, I have a feeling this seat will be open again in a few years.

Well I do believe Crenshaw said he'd support term limits.

Roberts went negative on Wall early on when he didn't have to. His campaign directly was going negative on her. Then at the very beginning of the special election he was asked if he was going to run a negative campaign against Crenshaw as well. He said he wasn't. Yet he intentionally coordinated with a family sponsored super pac to go negative using an old Facebook post taken out of context.

While he may have still lost it didn't help at all.

Lowry and Hotze lost YUGE last night. Both of those pathetic old fools went full bore for Roberts and a piece of pond scum low life unqualified sub-moron named Wolfe ( JP race on the west side). Both of their golden boys lost IN SPITE of the usual hate filled Alan Blakemore inspired smear and lie campaign fostered by hotze and lowry. HOPEFULLY this portends a end to the reign of terror and deceit by these 2 old evil fools.

Was happy to see the result for the JP race. Close, but good result. Had never cared about Jeff Williams before but had a sign in the yard for him during the runoff.

me too. I know Jeff pretty well and considered him adequate as JP..HOWEVER..that complete doofus sub-moron Wolfe does not deserve support for ANY position higher than latrine inspector. Jeff made the mortal sin of performing a gay wedding which drew the ire of the ubers and the sodomite smiting old fool hotze and the albino freak lowry all gussied up in righteous indignation and brimstone.

I have no idea what you just said, but I support your right to say it, even if you wrote it by eating a bowl of alphabits, drinking a bottle of bourbon, and vomiting out the text.

Wife and I went to early vote last Friday in the middle of the day. Jeff Williams was in the parking lot and approached us as we got out of the truck. He politely told us who he was, brief story about why he was in this runoff election and asked for our votes.
I had no idea about the Wolfe/Williams runoff election before that moment.
I thought it a little odd to be approached by a candidate in the parking lot of the polling place. I guess he was far enough behind the imaginary line to not be violating whatever election laws regulate that activity.

Roberts and his supporters are forgetting how he and the BIL trashed and smeared to the tune of at least 1/2 million dollars a Navy Seal. Now he says he supports him as a strong conservative leader! I thought he was Obama and Sanders!
Which is it?

Too bad so much money was wasted on negative attacks!

It's common at some polling locations, though I don't see it as much as I used to. They have to stay 100 feet from the entrance (although the Democrats where I vote early usually ignore that).

Glad to see you say that. I've always enjoyed your insight into Houston area GOP politics. Is your opinion of those two pretty common among those involved?

They were both great conservative candidates and I would have been happy with either. But when I opened my mailbox day after day and saw the disingenuous ads, that determined my vote for Crenshaw. I'm sick and tired of Repuplicans eating their own. I hope it will teach a lesson to future candidates, but I doubt it will. They and their advisors never believed in the Reagan Commandment: Thou shalt not speak Ill of fellow Republicans."

Most people expect something different at the local level. Even if it's not a high-minded policy debate, most people will see it as something as a skills competition: who can raise the most money, who can craft the best message delivery, who has the best organization to contact voters and get people to the polls.

What most people do not expect (or want) at the local level is: "He's Obama and he lives with his parents!"

The ads were purchased in the Link letter and that early attack in the primary was one of the worst I've seen. To go to breakfast with someone and pretend to be genuine after you were already bought out is just terrible. Then to take it a step further (probably because Crenshaw didn't pay money to Link) make your only comment about them is they live with their parents!

Yes I hope this is a turning point for doing away with the paid local establishment club here.
