The answer is a place I know about down Freeport street in channelview and another place in Jacinto City. That's where so many Mexicans live and where you'll find the non-trendy best tacos in the H.
El Ultimo Taco Truck usually parked at Jacquelyn and Long Point.
So far, Austin doesn't have anything close to real tacos. It's quite disappointing.

They're not the best in Houston, but I have to give some love to tacos el gato truck.. they've been around for a while, but I just recently stopped and tried it and they're solid. Up there with the taco truck at w. Bama

I won't go so far as to claim that they're the best in Houston but Tacos del Julio on Long Point is legit. We hit it at least once a week for lunch since there's a dearth of divey taco joints in the immediate Galleria/Tanglewood vicinity.

The best tacos in the greater Houston area are made in my kitchen. All my friends beg me to make them and won't eat tacos out anymore.

Tacos Arcelia #4 at Clay and Gessner is really good. Idk of best in the Tine though...
You can never go wrong with Velvet Taco on Washington either.

1. Taconazo, 4003 Fulton behind the tire shop. Get the trompo (carved from a rotating spit of meat)
2. Alacran, 6611 Canal. Served with grilled poblano peppers in the tacos (if you ask).
3. Taco Keto, 1401 Cullen by tire shop. Open evenings. They dip the tortillas in salsa before warming them on the stove.

Fantasy North has the best tacos IMO in Houston. Harris County probably the church.
I think the Baytown Parks & Rec guys took me there in 1998 when I had to do a day of community service and the frijoles burned the **** outta my mouth. Tacos were good though.
Chilosos are good and surprised no mention of Laredo.

Props to you all who go get tacos by tire shops? And also the shadiest parts of town. Taco trucks are robbed at gun point on the regular no? I would much rather not get caught in that crossfire for a damn taco.

Tita's is definitely legit. Tacos Flores on 1960 is damn good too.
It depends if you like flour versus corn & the meat. One spot will make the best ones from tripe or tongue. & another will have really good pork.
