My son will be going into the 5th grade next year.

He thinks he wants to play more basketball.
Which makes me happy because it's inside in the summer.

The leagues he has participated in up until now have been inconsistent.

Do y'all have recommendations for summer &/or fall leagues with more consistent
officials, training & coaching?

How serious do you want to be? We have bounced to a few in the area and are currently at I9 Sports. It's convenient in that practice is before the game, so you only have one obligation a week.

I have been hesitant to go here because it's so far away.
Looks like they do some in the woodlands now.

We did i9 twice, but the weird rules wore me out.
Did upwards this year, but they don't have anything in the summer.

Went to school with the owner's kids. Good people.

We did i9 for a couple of seasons, but we switched to the Farm League this year. i9 is fine if your kid just wants to play and have fun, but if he is at all competitive, I would go elsewhere. While they do keep score, it has the "everyone gets a trophy" vibe. At least it was that way for the younger kids. The other drawback to i9 for us was that all of the games/practices were on Sundays for my son's age group. I do like the idea of having practice right before the games though. While not perfect, The Farm League has been an improvement in my eyes.

We did Farm League last summer.

We were not satisfied at all.

Also disliked Sunday schedule with i9.
