so you pay an extra $200 three times a year plus $10 per month for a total of $720 extra...my entire bill for the year is only about $1,100 on my plan if I work it right.

Plus EO gets a commission on all of your new signups...those guys are geniuses.
can someone translate this for me
You said you get moved every 4 months.

that's 3 times per year

at $200 per move, that is $600

EO cost $10 per month, that's $120

so you pay $720 to be moved around.

My bill is usually under $100, so I pay about $1100 per year on my plan...I cannot imagine a rate low enough for my situation that switching around like that would pay off...

They canceled and moved me once, about a year ago. I was describing the one time it had ocured.

And I agree with you. If you live in an apartment/house made for ants/etc. your energy consumption is probably not enough to justify the Ogre, etc.

well I supposed if you're house was built in the thirties with no insulation, window unit A/C, and a space heater, your bills are probably a bit higher and EO is worth it.

like i said, those guys are geniuses.

or a house to accommodate a family and a pool... energy costs easily go over $100 in the most energy efficient home.

Thanks...I was totally serious in my response to Ducks...and hadn't thought of any of that.

I am trying to assist my father-in-law with setting up an energy ogre account. It is my understanding they place with you with a different company every 6 months or so depending on rate.

He has placed a credit freez on all of his credit reporting (experian, transunion, etc). He is concerned that he will have to lift all of those. Does energy ogre continue to run soft checks or do they only do it initially?

We are attempting to reach out to them, too, just wanted to see if anyone here knew.
Use Griddy instead of EnergyOgre. It skips the middleman of buying electricity from a retailer and gives you direct access to the wholesale prices. You save money two ways: cutting out the middlemen, but also by shifting your heavy electricity usage to non peak hours. I love it. and I enjoy all the data usage metrics as well.

Even if you don't shift any electricity usage at all, you still come out ahead. Griddy is a $10 bucks a month, but if you PM me, I can give you a referral code for $25 credit for switching.
