Those of you who have been to both Fogo de Chao and Texas de Brazil which did you like better?
This. Better experience in my opinion. Used to be cheaper as well but now they seem to be almost equal.Joker98 said:
Chama Gaucha

My company has gone to all 3 for holiday lunches the last few years....
Once to Fogo, twice to Chama and once to Texas de Brazil.
I think Chama has a slight edge over Fogo but basically the same.
I'd rate Texas a distant 3rd. The quality of the meat was not on par with Fogo/Chama and neither was the service. We felt we had to flag down the "meat" guys way too much.
The majority of our group ranked these 3 in the same order.

brazil is a huge country and has regional cuisines just like we do in the US. You're GF might like the Brazilian equivalent of southeastern United States BBQ when it is nothing like Texas BBQ. In that case, she would have bad taste.ea1060 said:
My girlfriend is from Brazil and loves to eat there, says it reminds her of the food back home.
What are your views on sausage and cheese kolaches?ea1060 said:
I don't agree with you but my point still remains: Fogo is better than Texas de Brazil. And Emporio is better than all of Them. Emporio and Fogo were started by Brazilians, Texas de Brazil was not.
Would you rather eat at Taco Cabana/Chachos/On the Border or some hole in the wall taqueria where the owner is straight from Mexico?

Texas de Brazil is not authentic Brazilian food. Fogo de Chao originated in Brazil and is delicious and authentic.
However, Emporio Brazilian Grill is the best Brazilian restaurant in town and where all the tine Brazilians eat at. It's not as pricey as the big steakhouses and has better food. My girlfriend is from Brazil and loves to eat there, says it reminds her of the food back home.

It's hit and miss. Been multiple times. It's also not a steakhouse and I wouldn't take someone there unless I know that they are excited about trying something new and a little unusual.Quote:

Someone described Bahia as the Louisiana equivalent of Brazil as far as cuisine goes. Maybe not totally accurate but works for me.randy828 said:
There are definitely different cuisines in Brazil. I found out one time when I had a seafood soup dish that is from the Bahia region.....usually Brazilian food is not spicy...but that dish from Bahia was very hot. Good stuff, but I was not expecting it.
