This. Better experience in my opinion. Used to be cheaper as well but now they seem to be almost equal.

My company has gone to all 3 for holiday lunches the last few years....
Once to Fogo, twice to Chama and once to Texas de Brazil.

I think Chama has a slight edge over Fogo but basically the same.
I'd rate Texas a distant 3rd. The quality of the meat was not on par with Fogo/Chama and neither was the service. We felt we had to flag down the "meat" guys way too much.

The majority of our group ranked these 3 in the same order.

Texas de Brazil is not authentic Brazilian food. Fogo de Chao originated in Brazil and is delicious and authentic.

However, Emporio Brazilian Grill is the best Brazilian restaurant in town and where all the tine Brazilians eat at. It's not as pricey as the big steakhouses and has better food. My girlfriend is from Brazil and loves to eat there, says it reminds her of the food back home.

brazil is a huge country and has regional cuisines just like we do in the US. You're GF might like the Brazilian equivalent of southeastern United States BBQ when it is nothing like Texas BBQ. In that case, she would have bad taste.

Who cares if something is not "authentic?" All three places will get you fat as a tick.

I don't agree with you but my point still remains: Fogo is better than Texas de Brazil. And Emporio is better than all of Them. Emporio and Fogo were started by Brazilians, Texas de Brazil was not.

Would you rather eat at Taco Cabana/Chachos/On the Border or some hole in the wall taqueria where the owner is straight from Mexico?

I don't see the all you can eat option. I want to regret my life decisions after eating 23 different kinds of meat and pass out. Where is that option?

Haven't been to Texas de Brazil. Have been to Fogo a bunch of times. And Chama once. Both are very good but I think Chama is a little better.

True, but there's still such thing as white people tex mex and normal Tex mex. Chuys versus Ninfas/El Tiempo etc.

.

You sound a lot like the morons on my neighborhood FB page when the subject of Chicago pizza, Cajun, or New York bagels, or whatever local fare comes up. No need to trip all over yourself to prove how authentic you are as if it validates your opinion more than anyone else's.

Serious question: if these places weren't all you can eat and you could only get one entree, side, etc., how would you rate them compared to some of the other better restaurants in Houston?

Chama is better than Fogo, which is much better than TdB.
Go to Chama.

It's hit and miss. Been multiple times. It's also not a steakhouse and I wouldn't take someone there unless I know that they are excited about trying something new and a little unusual.

The Brazilian consulate here in Houston prefers Chama for what it is worth.

My wife, who is from Brazil, and I enjoy Emporio too when we don't want to hit a churrascaria. Good stuff although my wife feels like they have gone down in quality the last couple of years. I think she said they had a management change, but I am not sure.

There are definitely different cuisines in Brazil. I found out one time when I had a seafood soup dish that is from the Bahia region.....usually Brazilian food is not spicy...but that dish from Bahia was very hot. Good stuff, but I was not expecting it.

Dang this is making me hungry...

Wherever the food tastes the best.

I have had some, food cooked by people "staight from Mexico" that sucked. Where you are from does not make you somehow a better cook than the next guy.

Someone described Bahia as the Louisiana equivalent of Brazil as far as cuisine goes. Maybe not totally accurate but works for me.

I went to a Bahian seafood place in southern Brazil and got a 10-course meal that was on point in terms of spicy and tasty. Being in southern Brazil, it may have been like eating at a Creole restaurant in Cleveland, but it all tasted good to me.
