I am trying to step my game up and need some help...I have always worn standard 501's or Wranglers with my boots and am looking to step into the 21'st century. Something relatively classy that my wife won't roll her eyes at when we go out on the town.

Embarrassed to even start a thread like this so here are some "ladies of the Sinaloa cartel" pics for your troubles...

i was at Cavenders the other day and a salesman noticed me looking confused so he came over to help. I felt like a child having a grownup explain the differences between boot cuts and cowboy cut or whatever.

I used to like Levi's boot cut, but the last couple pairs I ordered were pretty narrow in the leg. Bottom line is you have to try them on to see what you like.

Couldn't you just PM AustinCountyAg for this?

Not familiar with him...but I have always respected the fashion sense of the Houston board brain trust. Except when it comes to watches. I will never get that.

agreed that you have to try them on to see what works. Cinch and Wrangler Riatas work for me. Others not so much.

TexAgs does not approve of boot cut 7 jeans.

First of all I will let you know the only reason I am replying is because of your efforts of the pictures.
I wear Cinch white label daily. I have work and dress ones in my closet. Come to think of it those are the only brand/style of jeans I own.

OP asks for help upgrading from Wranglers and 501s and y'all recommend Cinch?

What kind of boots are we talking about? You wear mostly square toe double welt or some nice ropers or Western style boots?

Think a good rule of thumb is boot cut lighter wash for more casual or straight cut dark wash for more dressy sharper look. I personally stick to straight cut as I think boot cut jeans are b**** and look like they don't fit. You can't go wrong with Gap jeans.

Ah, you lost all credibility with straight cut.

Tall, thin?
Fit, athletic?

Short and wide?

Some jeans work for some body types but look terrible on others.

Cinch Carter jeans are what I normally wear, mixed in with some wrangler retro boot cuts.

Thats how us country boys in Industry, TX roll.

If you are looking for boot jeans...and wrangler has been decided to not be in the least....you may want to consider:

Turning in your man card.
Re-evaluation your station in life
Ceasing to wear boots
Getting a new wife

Yikes.

Jesus christ...cinch jeans? We need some toxic masculinity in this thread in a really bad desparate way.

I like the Wrangler straight boot cuts with a bit of stretch that are like $18 a pair at Walmart. If you're fit, they are inexpensive and look good with boots, but color selection is limited because...Walmart.

I actually like the Walmart Rustlers for $11-12 for casual wear out in the yard or around the house, but the wife simply won't let me wear them out with her in public. She's not high maintenance at all, but that's where she draws the line. She literally thinks I wear them to F with her.

After womens' suffrage it was all downhill from there.

Go to Nordstrom and buy one pair of good jeans that fit how you like. You're done buying jeans for life and your wife will be thrilled.

Might seem weird but go to buckle and get their own brand of jeans the BKE. They aren't anything flashy or have stupid **** on them but I've always liked them over other jeans I've worn plus you can get them in Long and extra long so they stay over your boots when you sit down. They have different cuts as well.

Another vote for Lucky. They have a couple athletic cuts that allow guys who have quads that don't match their waist size actually be able to wear jeans for their waist size

I stop traffic in my banana republic rapid movement slim fit denim with boots. Try to imagine the most comfortable, broken in pair of jeans you've ever owned. These are more comfortable right out of the bag

Levi 527 Slim Bootcut is what I wear daily. Only ones I found that weren't b****.

I second this. I wear them daily as well with western heeled boots. Of course, I'm slim and can pull it off.

This is what I wear. Just the right comfy and stylish I think.

In that, I have room for my boys and girls I take dancing don't complain about them like wranglers.
