What amounts to thongs weren't normal to see back in our day. String bikinis were all over, and they were glorious. Every now and again you'd see a french cut or even a full on thong, but they were rare. Now days it's pretty much every style.

Thongs were just for underwear (and still rather rare) when I was in school. But Victoria's secret was doing God's work sending out catalogs to all the coeds letting them know they were a thing.

Not really. In the early 2000's it was like girls at A&M were still growing out of the grunge era or something.

I am blown away by how girls dress today by comparison. Many of the girls I went to A&M make themselves up way hotter/sexier now, after multiple kids, than they ever did at A&M. This would have been considered somewhat racy "going out on the town" attire back in 2000 or 2001. "Holy sh** did you see Stacey tonight bro? She was wearing a sleeveless blouse with her Gap jeans, she looked incredible".

We got hosed during that period.

Same vintage as you -- thongs were only something you saw in magazines or on some awesome sexploitation movie like Hardbodies.

Otherwise, the bottoms were way better than the high-waisted mom bikinis that seem to be everywhere today.

Circa 1994-1998 at the apartment swimming pools, the norm was a full back bikini bottom. If a girl was naughty she would allow it to creep up and show some cheeks. The same girl that wore a full back bikini could almost be guaranteed to be wearing a thong underwear when we went out that night. We liked those girls.

One trend that was great during that time period was the prevalence of tanning booths. Lots and lots of girls with all over tans.

Agreed. That was about as dressed up as any girl got while I was there, early 2000s too. They usually just wore t shirts and cut offs or jeans. Sometimes they even wore make up.

That's scandalous compared to 91 - 95 coed fashion. We got screwed.

Went from baggy wind shorts to split-cheek, up-ass booty shorts.
