Made a pile of money on Wall Street and founded his own PE group here in Houston. They're a big, legit company. They're the PE backer of a fairly large healthcare group, Altus, that has regional hospitals and medical office stuff. They're Alex Rodriguez's partner (yes, that Alex Rodriguez) in his Mercedes dealerships, they bough the Ron Carter family of dealerships. They also own a sports agency and have invested big in youth baseball facilities.

Edit: not affiliated with them at all but I know the outfit and the owner a little bit. He's an odd dude who has had more plastic surgery than most of the chicks on this thread. IIRC, Stanford Financial was an outright Ponzi scheme
