Just curious. How is it saving data if I have to click the link and then open the picture anyway?

Ummm, nobody forces you to open the link.

Also, if the link is quoted several times, it won't open in all those quoted posts either. So, even if you do click the link, the others won't open, and you save data.

I use the mobile site at work to not only use less data and hopefully be a little less noticeable to IT, but also so no pictures pop up where someone could see. Quite handy.

Yes, this is handy on other threads. But this is a damn picture thread. I click on it expecting pictures and don't click on it when around coworkers.

And yes I know the code is the code and won't be written differently for each thread.

Also, I see the pictures from twitter or just off the Internet. The only pictures I don't see are Instagram posts, those are just links

The picture is only downloaded once and a cached version is displayed in every other instance so showing multiple times shouldn't use more data. Even when revisiting the thread your browser should still have the cached version (unless you clear your cache to hide your usage from you BF).

whats weird is these new links are being blocked by our internet at work. but instagram isnt blocked. Its something about that link.

So unless you post the name of who the pic is of, I have no idea who it is.
