Hard to say. Can't go wrong with either.

Chama Gaucha - ask for the limeade, it's made with condensed milk and will give you immediate diabetes.

Chama.

I've been to Gauchos in Vintage Park a few times as well and it was solid.

Fogo has better meat, Chana has more selection

I think the food is better when you go during a busy time so it is more fresh

I thought both Fogo and Chama Gaucha were equally good, but the tables seemed more spread out at Chama so I give it the nod for that reason. Can't go wrong with either of you are taking people who love meat.

Every Brazilian I've talked to has said that Chauma Gaucha is the best Brazilian restaurant in Houston.

Why not just tell him to spend the money at a quality seafood place or Italian restaurant?

This thread isn't asking for best steakhouse. It's asking for best Brazilian steakhouse. They are different experiences and food.

I like them both. my recent experience at chama was a bit better than those at fogo, but it could have just been that particular night.

what is the quality steak house that offers picanha, pork ribs, ribeye, sausage, chicken, bacon wrapped filet, lamb chops, and pork loin all at the same time for the same price? I'd love to visit it.

I guess I just hear a lot of folks talk about Brazilian steakhouses in comparison to actual steakhouses on a regular basis.*folks who I grew up with, most of who think good steak can be found at outback.

Yeah, they don't know what they're talking about. 2 completely different experiences and atmospheres. I like the Brazilian places when I want to pig out, but a steakhouse is a special occasion type of place for me.

I like the Brazilian/Argentinian style places for the variety. I like not having to choose between ribeye, filet, strip, and even lamb. And I love lamb. Probably more than steak even.

It's not an "all you can eat" place but Pampa Grill up on Hammerly is a really authentic parilla experience. Plus, they have authentic morcilla (blood sausage) that I really like.

Yep. $20 less than Fogo and just as good. Been several times.

Pro tip: Ask for the Brazilian Lemonade and have them add rum.

My rankings would be:

1: Chama
2: Fogo (just barely behind)

Tradicao way behind both.

Tradicao is not terrible by any means but it definitely is not in the same ball park as the other 2. Granted I've only been once so maybe I should not judge it by the one time. I do eat at Chama or Fogo 4-5 times a year probably.

My wife took me to Chama Gaucha for my birthday today, and I was very impressed with the service and quality of the food. We already agreed that this is where we will be celebrating our wedding anniversary in November.

Texas de Brazil is my favorite, only slightly ahead of Fogo. Food at both is about even, I just think TDB is a slightly nicer experience.

I just pulled all three websites up and Fogo, Gauchos, and Chauma are all within $1-$3 of each other for both lunch and dinner.

Did they used to be $20 less and had a price increase? I was wanting to take my boys to a place like this, but am not paying $50 for kids to eat...
