So the Texans send Brock to Cleveland along with a second round pick, and what did they get? The Browns' 4th round pick??

Man, how bad did they want to dump Brock?

Hopefully they'll resign AJ Bouie(sp) because he's on the verge of becoming an elite CB.

That was expensive garbage to unload.

And srs...Romo? I'd be happier I'd they went after a few rookie QB's instead.

we also gave them a 6th next year.

Texans are fine in the secondary. Bouye was low key elite last season, but that's not where you want to spend your money. I'm all about this move. The windows for winning are short.

Hard to tell which team did the more "brownsie" thing in this trade.

Getting rid of one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL when it was actually time to get rid of said quarterback is decidedly un-Brownesque.

We should have never picked him up in the first place. At least not for the amount that we did

Exactly, it was very "brownsie" to spend as much as they did on BO and then give him and a 2nd Away. I mean the 4th in return means nothing because Rick smith will pick another pick that won't be in the league next year.

So does 2017 become a hope Savage can win in the awful AFC south, or just a rebuilding year?

Agree with the comments on Rick Smith where everyone is applauding the move totally forgetting the moron that put them in the situation in the first place.

I feel like Rick Smith is really good at Power Point slides and presenting how exciting the future will be with no real clue the mechanics to get there.

wow...BO was so bad I lumped him in Mallet. Tall and bad at football, basically the same thing.

Damn.

I don't know, man. Effing up is one thing. Getting another team to buy your eff-up, after it has become apparent how badly you effed up....... That takes some talent.

Osweiler seemed by all accounts to be a good QB prospect during FA last year. So Rick Smith's eff-up is somewhat understandable. Browns taking the eff-up off his hands... That is a truly Browns-worthy eff-up.

I feel like Rick Smith has pics of Bob McNair with a dead girl or live boy and/or provides other "services" on the side in order to keep his job.

I'm glad he's trying to fix his own mess...but is this common to give a player AND a 2nd round pick and get nothing but capspace (and a throwaway pick) back in return? He's such a joke of a GM.

I haven't fully analyzed this trade but I don't think it's as bad for the Browns as people think.

They ain't competing for jack this year and I'd assume they cut Osweiler and his contract so basically he's a one year "rental" for a second round pick. The Browns have the cap space and need a QB so they can trot Osweiler out there not worrying about his health because he's a one year "rental."

Meanwhile the Texans had to give up a second round pick to get rid of a guy that wasn't even going to start for them to free up space to hopefully sign a 37 year old veteran who likely won't stay healthy all year.

Kudos to you Rick Smith. The triple meat turd sammich you fed everyone last yet has everyone excited about the single meat turd sammich you just pulled off.

Unreal.

the browns weren't gonna spend all of their cap money anyway. at least this way they get another pick for it.

we did ourselves a huge favor. don't care what it cost.

My enthusiasm for this move is tempered by the fact that I know with every fiber of my being that Rick Smith will follow this up with an equal and oppositely crap move.

Exactly. I'm wondering how Rick Smith is still employed. He's made so many bad draft picks and FA signings.

Rick Smith is good at one thing and that's nailing first round draft picks. Draftwise, things fall apart after round one.

To be fair, the Texans actually are relevant. The browns might be the worst franchise in sports.

No kidding it is not like the Texans are 2-14, while it is 9-7 the last two years, they still made the playoffs. The Browns have been irrelevant for years and this was a great deal for both teams.

To be fair, the Texans would not be 9-7 and in the playoffs the last two years if they weren't in the worst division in the NFL. Both years they were 5-1 in the division, 4-6 out of it.

So, my point was is that they weren't throwing teams out there that were perennial losers like the Browns, if you can't see that difference then this is a lost cause. In the end some of y'all will find anything to complain about, just be happy Brock is gone and we are moving on.
