We're looking to try one of the Escape Room places in town. Anyone have any good or bad experiences at any of these? Sounds like a great time.

We have had fun the two times we went to the one down by Minute Maid, both rooms were pretty challenging but not impossible. We had a group of 6-8 and that seemed like a good amount of people

i think it's Houston escape room. we've been and had a good time w/ a similar sized group.

I've done Houston Escape Room downtown on Jackson St near Minute Maid and Escape the Room Texas in Midtown on Louisiana across from Brennans. Both were good and with a nice challenge.

I would go with enough people that you dont get paired up with randos. I think I remember they can both be up to 10 people, but I would say 8 is the ideal number.

Make sure to call ahead to verify the room hasn't been cancelled. I had big plans, which have been ruined:

There's one in Montrose across the street from Empire Cafe.

I've done a couple. Escape Now in Cypress was good.

I've done the Minute Maid one and the Midtown one. Not sure if it was just the particular rooms we were in, but the Minute Maid one I did was much more enjoyable. It was difficult but very fun. The Midtown one seemed impossibly hard.

We recently went to this location for my friend's 40th bday. Lots of fun.

OP you can reserve up to 10 per room. I think if you're short they will put you with other groups. We had one couple cancel, but since it was pre-paid we continued with just 8. Lots of fun. Would definitely go again. The look on some people's faces as they exit the rooms failing to complete the tasks is also quite funny

Just go to Ben Taub late on a Friday night. There's your escape room.

Tried Houston Escape Room by minute maid about a year and a half ago. Damn near impossible. We had 6 people, and several margaritas before hand. Didn't make it through half the clues.

Been in the same group as Gougler. Always been a good time. Great way to meet up for dinner/drinks, do the escape room and get some ice cream after. We've done them after dinner and after Sunday brunch. The Houston escape room has been great as the clues are parallel strings as opposed to one long string.

Weve done the one near Minute Maid a few times and loved it. We booked the whole room so we didn't have any ransoms join us - it's worth it even if you don't fill it completely. It's a lot of fun and harder than we expected.
