How long do you want to ignore this user?
Anybody seen any of the summer / pop-up snow cone places anywhere near the Oak Forest area? The brick and mortar ones all around seem to offer something very different for their ice (raspas?) that isn't nearly as finely shaved... Any help appreciated.

Mam's isn't finely shaved enough for you? That's the finest we've found.

From the reviews / other people we've talked to - no, after visiting a couple of other brick and mortar spots and being disappointed we were really looking for a bit of nostalgia as well with the trailer / pop-up style. Oh well, sounds like we should give Mam's a shot after all. Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

They are sometimes a little slow on the service, but their ice really is the best we've found.

Just like 2 years ago Mams was in a small trailer with a single picnic table and a line 20 people long in the middle of an abandoned lot. You'd stand there for 30 minutes and sweat your balls off before getting to cool down with a perfectly shaved ice "snow cone".

It may be brick and mortar now, but it's still as legit as it's always been.

Not snowballs, but the new steel city pops down the street from mam's is the ish. Toasted coconut and coffee are my favorites.

Buzzles is good, but all 4 locations are in the Spring/Klein/Tomball area... However, if you're up that way, definitely worth a stop, plus they have a punch card for those who are addicted.

Just went to Mam's, man were we misinformed. Great ice, great staff and fairly quick. Thanks for the push this way.

You were greatly misinformed by some major idiots. They're among the best, if not the best in town. But this is also very widely known info

RIP snowball in Stafford/mo city. They were my favorite, but I believe a causality of the major 90/main widening about a decade or so ago. Bahama bucks is a good replacement I guess.

I was wondering what happened to that trailer. Couldn't remember the name either. Started working in the Heights and was looking forward to getting some snow cones. But they were gone.
