I am trying to find where to call Harris County for a neighbor's dog that will bark non-stop from whenever outside, past 10pm.

I know Houston has a line to call for noise complaints, but didn't know how to handle living in Cypress.

I spoke with the neighbor already and he said there is nothing he can do about it.
I mentioned we bring in our dog so that it wouldn't bark and disturb the neighbors, and the response was "that's what you do, I can't control the dog"

I have already notified our HOA.

TIA

It may not be illegal to have a barking dog in unincorporated areas. Hoa may be your only recourse.

Had a similar situation about 7 or 8 years ago. Dog wouldn't stop barking and if the kids were anywhere near the fence the dog would thrash against it trying to get at them. I spoke to the neighbor several times and he would just say it's his kids dog I can't do anything about it. His kids were about 8 and 10 years old.

HOA wouldn't do anything. Only recourse was to call Harris County Sheriffs office. I never did because I felt like I was taking them off more important stuff but in hindsight I should've.

I feel for you. Having a bad neighbor is the worst.

Shoot the dog in the ass with an air soft gun a few times. It'll learn after a few.

Thanks for the info, called the non emergency line and they said to call Animal Control. I'll follow back up on Monday.

I know in speaking with him, 2 other neighbors have also complained, so I intend to speak with them also in hopes of banding together.

I think he already has had problems with the HOA. The people who own the house (name on Mortgage and still live there) is his mother and father in law. Apparently they didn't pay HOA for a few years.

I bet whatever deed restriction letter he gets will just get thrown in the trash along with other notices.

Third Coast and Crossbow, I'll set up a boxing ring for you 2

I had a neighbor that shared a third of my back fence line. He had two ultra aggressive pit bulls. They basically would go apeshat every time we were in the back yard. They would bust holes in the fence and I ended up having to reinforce with plywood.

I talked to the thug black neighbor 2x and that didn't work. So then(I will keep this short) called for the local constable, later called sheriff, later called Animal control, and then the county attorney in Ft Bend county. They all (except) for the attorney talked to this guy multiple times.

In the end no one could intervene until those dogs attacked us. Well that really sucked. I couldn't really get the dogs for excessive barking without filming them, with out a local constable observing the excessive barking......in other words you will have to go through hoops to get change.

One morning I got tired of watching this dog jump up and hang on the top of the fence barking at my wife. I grabbed s shovel and hit that dog with all of my might. He jump back up on the fence and I hit him again. Black thug guy was in his back yard and didn't say boo. The dog did stop hanging on the fence but never stopped barking. Then one night black thug guy skipped out never to be seen again. Had not paid rent for a few months and also stoled the AC unit. What a winner this guy.

So in dealing with those dogs. After making so many calls to law enforcement I was advised not to kill the dogs. If they came up dead I would be the prime suspect. Simply not worth the time and money.

So now I simply kill tdogs (all pit bulls so far) that I see are highly agressive and are a danger to me and my family. End of story.

For your neighbors barking dogs. I would do one of two things. Late at night I would light there back yard and windows up with bright lights and q beams in their windows.

Secondly would blare music at their house at 5:30am sat and Sunday morning. Yes you will piss off other neighbors.....but that is ok. My guess is you are not the only one and other may tolerate it to make a point.

I'm struggling to see how your neighbor being black was an important part of this story.

No one else until this point had thought race was important enough to mention.

If you have a portly neighbor who is a postman, I hear he can help people with problems like yours.

The pit bull was a sweet family pet. It just wanted to play fetch.

Sounds like you learned your lesson. Don't live next to black people.

Bunch of weak men those people are. Can't control your own dogs? I have two dogs I keep outside and they only bark when they should bark e.g. when another animal is in the yard or people are behind my back fence (I don't have neighbor on back side, just a big wide drainage ditch). This barking all the time crap I put a stop to immediately. I need sleep too. I don't know how people just let their dog bark all night.

Mine are a woman, her mother and crazy young kids. I think she's got bigger problems than dogs but the dogs are MY problem!

You could always try something this. They even sell some that look like bird houses. Be careful though, not sure if the neighbors will get mad if they find out you use this.

Nzonpet.
Probably similar to the one linked but this works great on our big lab and the neighbors yapping dog thru our cedar fence.
