Same thing happens in auto auctions, art auctions, iPhones on eBay etc. It all literally works the same with everything. Economics isn't politics or real estate so that is irrelevant. Sorry, a smoker worth $12K may not be worth what you think the value is. Especially when your target market went to an oil school, lives in an oil state, and is working with $37 oil. Disposable income isn't overflowing for most.

That said, perhaps it is worth $10K.
