There is a Chinese food place here in Da Nang that served delicate steamed dumplings that were filled with various broths. It was very good.

Are there eateries like this in Houston that serves steamed soup dumplings?

Thanks. Those places have dumplings with the soup contained within the dumpling itself. It would not be served in a bowl of soup.

San Dong is good for standard pan fried and steamed, but I like the the xiao long bao (soup dumplings) at One Dragon.

If I remember correctly from my time in Shanghai, these are called Xiaolongbao. SO GOOD!! I had them at least twice a week when I was there. Sometimes even for breakfast.

Would give anything to get a Din Tai Fung here....think they are considered the standard for xiaolongbao. Went to the Seattle location and it was sooo good....stuff is like crack. They need more US locations not on the west coast.

Yeah? Really for me it is the whole package with Din Tai Fung. A little Xiao Long Bao, a little Wa Tei, a little spicy wontons in red chili sauce, some chili with garlic and a pork chop fried rice. I can get decent Xiao Long Bao at ginger and fork and the Wa Tei at Auntie Chang's, and the spicy wontons at Mala Sichuan but getting them all together is just so hard.

The spicy pulled pork in bao buns at Ginger & Fork were a bit of heaven as well.
