Looking at some new construction in the Heights. Right now it is just a lot, but we would be able to pick the finishes, minor stuff, etc.

General consensus seems like they do a pretty good job with construction but customer service depends on who you are dealing with.

Anyone have any good/bad dealings with them?

as with most home builders, it depends on the guy running the crews. i have been in my home now just over 2 years. it was an inventory home. i would say beetch and complain about everything you can in the first year warranty. watch them closely during the build.

And get a 3rd party inspector to check everything, but that's a good idea with any builder.

I bought a home when it was a lot from intown. Love my home but the company is a pain in the ass and you really need to watch them. It's all about which builder is assigned. I'm in shady acres.

dlenz2007@gmail.com if you want the full details. First time home buyer so nothing to compare to.

My clients have been happy with them for the most part. They have also been around for a while, so they're not your fly by night/mom and pop like builders that you see a lot of when the market is good. Like others have said, it really depends on your specific builder assigned to your area. Watch them carefully and have it inspected by a third party both pre sheetrock and post. Also, try to stay away from anything built by Urban Living and any of there many sister companies.

Been living in a 3 story home built by InTown since 2011. I watched it get constructed from the ground up. It's been a great house so far with virtually zero problems. It's gone up in value nearly 25% since I bought it. It's energy efficient, quiet, in a great location and the community has some good amenities (pool, gated w/ guard, etc.). I would recommend them as a builder, and I would buy from them again.

I second the comment about Urban Living. The absolute worst company I have ever dealt with from a customer service perspective.

Appreciate all the feedback. I have a friend who bought one a few years ago who said similar comments about the warranty and having it checked out constantly.

Overall positive, though. Thanks again.

We went over to look at Kolbe Farms yesterday and might be interested. Anyone living over there now?

Urban living owner is shady. He likely will read this and sue us and Texags, cause he's a b like that.

Think he's got other things to worry about these days

JUST THIS morning, a federal judge ordered developer Urban Living to pay nearly $28 million to Houston home design firm Preston Wood & Associates. Preston Wood sued Urban Living in 2016, claiming that the developer and its business partners made unauthorized use of copyrighted townhome plans Preston Wood had provided 2 years earlier.

They build a metric **** ton of townhomes. Nice foorplans and finishes. Quality is about average for that price point. They go through construction managers pretty quickly and some aren't as experienced as I would like.

There aren't a ton of townhome builders that you know will be around for the duration of the warranty. InTown is one, Weekley is another. That counts for something to me.

Thanks. We're about ready to get out of our neighborhood, and they have some options we like.

We are actually closing on a home in Kolbe Farms on Friday. I have been very impressed with the quality of the craftsmanship. When it was being built my dad would come out and seemed very impressed as well, which is not easy to do.
