I'm openly asking for other ideas. I told you what my brother mentioned. I'm happy to hear other options. (Pretty sure that's the 3rd time I've said that).

Thanks for all the useful posts. I did get a couple decent ideas.

I don't like Crave Sushi, and it doesn't have a very interesting atmosphere. Azuma Sushi downtown in the Rice Lofts might be a better option.

If all you're looking to do is barhop, then you can just head down to the Preston & Main intersection and hop between all of those bars down there. Nightingale, Captain foxhearts, OKRA, etc Finish strong at Warrens.

Bovine & Barley is a new beer bar opening down there in the near future. I'd think for sure it'd be open before July.

Maybe its just me, but Flying Saucer doesn't feel very bachelor party-y.

Houston doesn't feel very bachelor party-y outside of the titters, which still haven't been asked about or suggested which amazes me as we're on page 2 now

I agree. But I guess he wasn't really looking for a very bachelor party-y bachelor party, so I guess it doesn't really matter anyways.

As mentioned. We are mostly looking to hang out. I live overseas and he works all the time so we rarely see each other. Neither of us wants to go to a strip club.

Downtown is your spot then. There are a lot of bars and restaurants. Azuma if you are stuck on sushi, but there are a lot better restaurants there. Start at McElroys and work your way north on Main.

I'll vouch for Uchi. Outstanding sushi, but a reservation is a must.

From my experiences in Mid Town...there are some patio bars like woodrows previously mentioned that allow shorts/flippy floppies etc however many of them, at night, require jeans or slacks and do not smile upon tennis shoes/sandals.

if you want to make sure you have zero problems getting in somewhere, i recommend telling everyone to wear jeans.

nobody petal parties in midtown...not that i have ever seen, that is a washington thing.

I wouldnt use the wave...i would just get an uber black...once in midtown you can walk to most bars...and uber can take you to treasures...dont think the wave goes that way

Almost all places allow shorts if wearing nice dress shoes etc with them (no tennis shoes)

Lots of people petal party in midtown but it would be miserable in July.

I would go UberXL if having up to 6 people, anything less than 4 use UbverX. Super cheap way to get lots of people around and like I said above I would go from dinner to downtown for drinks then head to midtown for last 2hrs or so of the night.

someone that wants to wear shorts to their bachelor party probably isn't going to want to deal with Uchi.

I don't think Dogwood allows shorts...but it's been a while.

Very false. I live in midtown and hear them going by nearly every day of the week.

I am there all the time in shorts.

If you look ghetto though and have shorts on maybe you won't get let in.
