Any one know of any ranches or hunting lodges that would be good for a bachelor party? No more than 200 miles outside of Houston preferably. Like a place just to grill, have a fire, shoot clays (if possible).

It would be for 6-8 people.

Should not have mentioned that it's for a bachelor party.

IAH is less than 200 miles from Houston, there you can get on a plane to NOLA or Vegas.

I'd look into Hackberry Rod and Gun.

Hunting and fishing all within a quick drive to the casinos and skrip clubs in Lake Charles.

What time of year? Both of these are good for "blast and cast" weekends:

Matagorda

Lake Charles / Calcasieu

The LA place is close enough to Lake Charles to do a casino run.

Obviously, future spouse is already calling the shots.

Go hunting at Treasures. Exotic species.

Make sure the rack is of legal size though.

As a long-time, experienced bachelor party veteran, I applaud your decision to "think outside the box (literally)" and have a guy's weekend. I've been to multiple BP's of both varieties and can honestly say that the ranch / outdoors weekends are more enjoyable and memorable. The scrip club BP's usually end up being overly expensive nights chock full of regrets and bad decisions.

That said, I'm not nixing the scrip club idea altogether, just don't make it the singular focus of the BP. Do the dude weekend as the BP, then set up a scrip club night closer to the wedding.

Best of both worlds.

That's right. Domesticated animals are cheap, tell no stories, and carry no disease.

another great option for a BP is to go to Costa Rica - golf, bill fishing and hoey's are all plentiful.

The people that think the ranch/outdoors weekends are bad ideas typically have no clue that you can actually bring female entertainment out. They will be more fun because of the private setting and overall cost for all involved will be the same or cheaper.

Well yes, there is the white slave trade. That's the only way your're gonna get women to go to a rural hunting club.

Agreed, if they are bringing them out. Don't get me wrong, I love weekends at the ranch getting hammered and shooting ****. But you can have guys weekends doing that from here on out. The point of a bachelor party is to have a free pass to do shenanigans that will most likely go by the wayside....
