Maybe if you graduated in the past 5 years.

"What about Cross Creek Ranch? I've heard good things."

I think it's a little too far out.

I agree on the distance, but any comments on the neighborhood?

Some of the posts in this thread are hilarious. People scared of poor kids? Hahaha....I grew up in 77079 and believe me that area has changed for the worse. Especially the Twin Peaks protest fatties...hahaha

The neighborhood is great. Folks I know that live there love it.

1093 and 1463 are goin to be rough for some years to come though.

I should probably add one other thing. There were 13 boys on my sons baseball team. Coach pitch. Over half the parents were Aggies.

I've got comments on Cross Creek Ranch but they're mostly negative. I do like their wetlands area though. I'm wondering if they were required to do that for some reason...

Any updates on the Nottingham elementary change? Any parents see a big difference after those apartment complexes were torn down?

I haven't heard a bad thing about it from people in my neighborhood (Thornwood). I've got a little one starting pre-K in august and everyone raves about it.

I'm in Westchester, talking to parents around the hood I get the impression Nottingham is on the upswing now that some of the crappy apartments are gone. My kids are 2 and 1 month, I've got some time before they are in school. I originally moved out here a year ago from Lazybrook, schools and shorter commute were a major factor. Couldn't be happier with my commute in the energy corridor and school situation longer term. I highly recommend the area if you are looking, tons of young families seem to be moving in and there are bunch of kids running around.

By the way if you end up buying out here I highly recommend buying south of memorial & north of the bayou....having direct access to Terry Hershey is awesome, we walk out there evening evening and I hit up the trails every weekend when I can spare some free time away from the kiddos.

There are some great new construction neighborhoods popping up on the North side of I10. Look along Upland Drive and Wycliffe Dr. Many nice new homes in gates communities in the $400k-$500k range.

A $4-500k townhouse zoned to Sherwood Elem?

Pass.

"Wetlands" and "lakefront" property in Ft. Bend County is shorthand for housing on a detention pond (bonus if a little fountain is installed!) Developers/MUDs have to dig them or these places are uninhabitable - and once they do they can offer half the neighborhood a "lake"-front house.

Has someone mentioned Gaywood? Make sure you consider Gaywood.

I was at the Bunker Hill Best Buy a few years ago and there was a high school aged kid in front of me at the register. He had to tell the clerk his address and it was on Gaywood. I snickered a little.

Anyone have a clue as to the rents they'll be charging for that massive apartment complex going up on the SW corner of Wilcrest & I-10?

Probably won't find Candy Poon working the area though.

It's a brilliant scam that people from all walks of life fall for consistently.

The patio homes north of I10 are mostly Energy Coridor / Memorial City singles/dinks/babies or older people with high school aged kids who want into Startford and/or downsizing. I also think they are overpriced and prices will take a dive with the energy market.

Roughly 50% of the low-income kids that go to Nottingham Elementary have been done away with in the last 12 months with the recent demo of three apartment complexes (including the largest).

Those complexes are being replaced with higher end apartments that are targeting young professionals in the energy cooridor. They will price out the low income folks that lived in the old apartments.

Poor kids. You'd think they'd at least let them move out first.
