We are going to be meeting some family tomorrow in Houston for lunch and was wondering what restaurants have a good playground?? Preferably on the NW side since we will be coming in on 290, but are flexible.

We know of McDonalds, and obviously Chick fil A will be closed. There is also Lupe Tortilla, but not sure that every location has a play area.

Any other ideas out there with a nice atmosphere because we will be there a few hours talking and catching up

Thanks!

La Hacienda off Telge has a playground and huge patio that would work for that
On Telge just half mile or mile north of 290

TxKng82 - Thanks so much! Finally found them online but can't find a pic of the playground? Have you been there before? Is it a busy place, especially since it will be Sun and all?

+1 on La Hacienda. Plenty of room. Place ie huge. Playground is not that big but is fenced off from outside. We've had many softball end of season parties there for little kids. Good food prices also.

Yeah it gets busy but it's huge so never usually a wait in Sundays. I go after church a lot. Like poster said above, playground is closed off to outside so you dont have to worry about kids getting out. And foods good.

Clays is great too. Little farther off 290 the other way, but great for kids. Really can't go wrong with either. Just depends on if you want Mexican or burger type joint.

These kinds of restaurants are an excellent business model. Theres a family grill off of 1093 on the west side with a patio, $4 warm bud lights, frozen reheated meals, slow service, and the place is mobbed every non-school night.

Ended up going to La Hacienda. Was a great experience. Really big playground! Would probably visit again

Thank you for all of the recommendations. May try a different place next time...who knows

It appears the burbs are littered with idiots who gobble this type of stuff up.

3rd those of us out here aren't sophisticated enough to line up at some chic new restaurant in an old lug nut factory and then go on and on about the baked raccoon paws we just had. Our ignorance is bliss.

LOL you won't find me snobbing it up at those nose to tail places. The one place I can think of with a good playground is Goode Co. BBQ on 290. But only on a Friday night because they have live music that drowns out the kids!

All the good play areas have been killed off by lawsuits. A Grandys here in town used to have an AWESOME one, but it is long gone.

If you don't care about quality of food and just want to entertain the rugrats, go to IT'Z. They have a sports room where you can watch games and eat buffet style pizza while your kids play in big arcade.

Itz has the worst food on planet earth. Chef Boyardee wins a Michelin award compared to Itz. Even my 10 year old hates that place.

It's hard to screw up a basic pepperoni pizza. It's edible.

That's why both Itz and the place serving the roasted camel humps that all the cool kids love are still in business. Everyone wants something different.

This. On a related note, we've not been recently impressed by Clay's recently. Animals are all gone, replaced by a facade of a western town and large stage area. The place looks more like it caters to large oil companies wanting a Texas-themed event space as opposed to families wanting a nice place to bring the kids.
