New to the area and looking for a barber shop. I prefer the traditional old school style shop. Not looking for a sports clips or anything like that. Any suggestions

There Is one on Hwy 90 in old Katy near Los Cucos.

that place is as old school as it gets sans playboy magazine.

Speaking of haircuts, where's a good place to go for one? I work in downtown, and live at Memorial and 610.

I'm tired of going to Sportsclips and having my simple haircut ****ed up. I get a different girl every time, and not a one has cut my hair how I like it. The last one cut the top all different lengths. It's really short in the front (barely finger-width in length), and seems like she didn't cut anything off towards the back (two to three finger-widths long).

Why's it so hard to cut the sides with a 4 guard, trim the top, and leave my sideburns alone? Every time they have to try and "make my sideburns even", and end up cutting them higher and higher when I ask them to leave them alone. I can even them myself at home with my shaver.

Kirby's Memorial Barbershop, off Gessner near the Memorial City mall. Old school and they take their time to do a good job unlike the sport clip type places.

Eric at Fountainview Barbershop is my recommendation to those near the Galleria area or don't mind driving for a good haircut.

Came from Kirby's and gives one heck of a haircut and is entertaining too.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't want to hijack your thread. I just figured they had answered your question, and I didn't want to start a new thread covering basically the same topic.

Went to a Barber yesterday off of S Mason Rd just past Kingsland on the right, great haircut. $15

There's a nice barber shop off 1093 in the shopping center with Swampy's.

Gene was old when I went to him in HS. May have to star driving out there again

I'm in Cinco and I usually go to Roosters.

Ask for Joe if you go. She does a great job.

One opened up her own shop on 5th Street and between Katyland and Katy-Fort Bend Cutoff.

Op, I go to 5th Street Barber Shop so I would recommend going there.

I have had 2 people cut my hair for the past 8 years. THATS IT.

Yeah, I used to always have certain girls cut my hair in certain towns. In College Station there were two ladies that I always went to. They worked at the same place, and I didn't care which of the two cut it. They both did a great job. After I graduated, I still made my way back to CS to see friends often, and continued to get my haircut there. Now that I'm not back as often, I've had to find new places, and have yet to find someone I like.
