Hey all -- the wife and I will be moving from Cedar Park to the Walden Neighborhood up by Montgomery .....

We seem to like that area and the idea of the summer stuff, but any thoughts/suggestions/etc, of that neighborhood and area?

Seems to get great reviews from folks .....

I grew up there, parents still live in Walden.

As long as you stay away from the apartments by the marina in Walden its pretty nice. The golf course at Walden is awesome. Its kind of a pain in the ass to have to drive dowm Walden rd all the time, but its not horrible. Also not sure what the lake looks like right now, it ws dry the last time i was there.

The lake is finally up and the course in in GREAT shape.

Just lower rent area. Mostly poorer whites, kinda trashy.

Other than that its a great area. Sister and her husband live near the fire station.

I also grew up going to Montgomery schools, TE quality of teachers has gone down some but still a good district.

buy on the water; more money now but more likely to hold its value or appreciate

Yeah, the apartments were always the place for petty crime back in the day, lower income whites is correct

My parents live between the church and the apartments

My in laws just built a house on te gold course over looking the lake. It's a really nice area. Quiet, no light pollution, and it's a nice golf course. Lake looks really good. It's only going to get more crowded but it is a nice place to be. I'd recommend it

Pretty much everyone on here has nailed it all. My least favorite thing about Walden was having to drive down that damn road...

Just imagine when 105 was two lanes and Walden Rd. was a smaller two lanes.
