I'm heading to Jaco, Costa Rica 2 weeks from today and will report back. I've got it in my top list because I too have heard nothing but great things and I know it will be phenomenal.

DP, where have you stayed there? I have heard good things about Jaco, but i am trying to pin down the vibe of some of these towns. Are they very party?

This is where we are leaning. Golf Friday afternoon (for those that can take a full day off on Friday), hang out at the house, BBQ, & booze Friday night, Golf on Saturday, bus to downtown Austin Saturday night.

Only problem is the first two places said no to a bachelor party. And I'm not willing to risk telling them its a "company trip" and then not being allowed in when we show up.

Group of 14. Some of these guys have been to Jaco before. It's got beach, surfing, fishing, rainforest, rafting, and a good night life.

Maybe I am missing something, but don't these Vegas trips take place on the weekend? My post was directed to those people that say: "not like it will be easy to get a hall pass to go to NOLA or Vegas when you are married."

Is it really that hard for some people? If so, you probably made a poor choice

I guess I don't see why there is a distinction between a "weekend trip" to a football game road trip, Vegas, NOLA, skiing or anything else that has me away from home 2+ nights.

The Beatle Bar in Jaco!

Just got back from a 3 day bachelor party in Austin. I wasn't thinking it could be as good as Nola, but suprisingly, it was pretty good. Played 4 rounds of golf, 1 Thursday, 2 at Barton creek Friday, and 1 at falconhead Saturday. Hit up 6th street thursday/Friday nights and had tables/bottle/limo service at the stripy Saturday night. I had a great time. Nola is more crazy, but the bachelor wanted to play alot of golf so we went there and destroyed it.

Whenever I get married I personally want to do Nola for 2-3 nights, but this Austin trip was great as well.

And last time we went to Nola (when cab went) and we had like 25 dudes. It really wasn't a problem there since its so crazy anyways and so many bars and things to do off of burbon. Nola is still the greatest place to do it, IMO.

I also think it was more fun this weekend cause we had a legend with us rolling with 5k and constantly ordering 20 shots at every single opportunity.

Myrtle Beach is top notch. Excellent golf and boozing
