I'm a dentist in Katy and my buddy, George Gayle has an office in Galleria. He's a sip but a great dentist and loves talking sports. He has enough Ag friends to make him ok.

I went to her and thought she was great,..however she charged way more than customary charges. So I had to pay the regular 10% or whatever it is as well as the additional over customary charges. Did you run inot this?
Should mention, her somewhat attractive assistant put her hand on my shoulder while giving me a shot etc, but still not worth it.

BTD she's an out of network provider, as most of the top of the line ones are. So you pay everything up front, and then insurance reimburses.

i actually had the opposite experience. I ended up going in thinking it was going to cost an arm and a leg and a tooth, but actually ended up only costing a tooth and being pretty reasonable.

Maybe it differs depending on what you got done? I'm not sure if dental practices follow a standard pricing model across different dentists in relation to the services vs the dentist. dunno.

I hear what you're saying, and I'm no expert on dental pricing. I'm fine with the pay up front. I just thought typically that let's say you were getting xrays. Xrays customarily cost let's say $300. Blue Cross will pay let's say 80% of out of network. Uprfront cost to me $300,..net cost after reimbursement $60. However, she was charging $360 for xrays, blue cross covers 80% of $300, so I end up paying $360 upfront and only get reimbursed $240.,..so total cost $120. She's allowed to charge whatever she wants, but it was implied when i got there that "these procedures are covered by blue cross",..only to find out when the explanation of benefits comes that she charges more than the covered customary amount. No big deal,..just no need to go to a dentist where i pay out of network as well as an additional premium.
That said, I did like here.

makes sense. to be honest im not that familiar with the pricing as well.

i just remember looking up reviews and getting rec's for what i wanted to get done, and being told this was a great but higher end place so expected to pay a little more. and i suppose i was expecting to get r@ped, but didn't end up being like that. probably was more expensive than other places though overall.

I too am in the galleria area and am looking for a dentist.

I had been going to Jay Patel out in Pearland after a co-worker recommended him. Great guy and an Ag as well. Did a great job on a wisdom tooth I needed taken out but his office manager and I couldn't see eye to eye. Just became too much of a hassle while still driving out to the burbs for it. I will check out some of the ones mentioned here. Thanks!
