Was that a real lynching? What are the details?
no, it was just a staged photo.

Again, it's his business and if we don't like it, then we can go elsewhere.
quote:
I think the picture offensive because of it's subject matter - a photo of a lynching/hanging does not belong in a family restaurant. So I'll avoid his BBQ joint. His prerogative to keep it, mine to go somewhere else. I'm ok with that and neither one of us needs to be put out over it. On my part, I'm glad it made the news; we had a valuable family discussion and I know better than to visit a restaurant that I think would be a negative experience for my kids.

When we reach that point, then how are we really any better than the terrorist who teaches his children to hate all Americans, or any other person who lives off of hate?

...killing by lynching is ok...

quote:I have no issue with this. If I owned a food joint I certainly wouldn't have a picture like this up, I agree the picture is in poor taste and it makes the owner look simplistic. However, I'm also not on the other extreme in thinking the news media needs to be alerted about it either as a lot of places do/show dumb things that I think are in poor taste, but that's their prerogative.
What I can't agree with is that having a picture glorifying killing by lynching is ok, fun, entertaining, acceptable, or (God forbid) even art.
quote:Heck I would go even further with that and say more than half of Iran doesn't even like/agree with the Theocratic regime in Iran. But the stranglehold on power is so out of reach that they almost had a civil war during the so called recent election (which many believe was rigged in favor of incumbents).
Iranian-American culture does not = Theocratic Iranian culture
