Houston Symphony - LOTR tickets?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I want to go to the performance next Saturday...went to the symphony's website and got the prices. are there other ways i can get the tickets? cheaper tickets?

Craigslist if you are lucky. I checked on tickets for that when they went on sale awhile back and they went pretty fast.

how is the orchestra view? those tickets are just $20. i just want to listen to the music, dont wanna see all the orchestra members like i would if i were to sit farther away. are these seats fine? do you know?

Ya I noticed that. The tickets that are right up against the orchestra pit are like 10 times less than seats just a couple rows back.

I would guess that view of the movie screen is probably obstructed somewhat.

You don't want to sit too close the sound will be overpowered by whatever section you are sitting closest to. You won't get the proper effect of the entire sound, which, is kind of the point.

Not formal, you'll be OK in anything but proper dress would call for slacks or nice khakis and a button down. I'm sure there will be plenty of dorks there dressed in LOTR garb.

An added bonus about sitting farther back is viewing the screen flash artwork and scenes from the movie. Definitely a must-see....
