Looking for a place to get good quality solid wood furniture (simple headboards, dresser, etc...). Ideally would love to find some good unfinished furniture places. There used to be one near my house in Copperfield but it shutdown about 5 yrs ago. Anyone have any suggestions? Would strongly prefer something in NW Houston, Cypress, Tomball, Katy, etc...

Not hijack your thread but I am trying to sell 2 year old wood furniture. Dresser, 2 nightstands, and mirror.

It is not in NW Houston, but Amish Craftsman Furniture down on Washington has excellent quality solid wood furniture. The only problem is that it looks like a work of art and will make all the other furniture in your bedroom look like crap. It is owned by a couple of Ags and we have bought a couple of pieces from them. You pick the design, the wood, the stain, and the trimmings, and they have it hand made to your spec within about 10-12 weeks. It isn't cheap, but it will outlast you and your kids will fight over it when you die.

Oh...piece of advice...if you go to their showroom, do not under any circumstances sit in the mission style leather recliner to the right of the entrance. You will develop an obsession with buying one until your wife relents and buys you one for Christmas after 3 long years of listening to you verbally lust over it. Most comfortable recliner I have ever sat in and mine should be here in a few more weeks.

txags92 - sounds interesting but may not be what we need on this go around. We are looking for something for a kids room that will hold up to the abuses of kids but don't think we would want to spend that too much in case the kids end up destroying it.

Yeah, if it is for kids, Amish Craftsman is not what you are looking for. Neal's would have been perfect for that (the place you were talking about in Copperfield). You might check Roomstore or Oakcrafters (if they are still in business).

crazy..i am looking for the same. Pottery Barn is so overpriced but we have some Roomstore stuff that just isnt really holding up well for my daughter.

Mac is your man when it comes to solid wood furniture. REMEMBER, MAC HAS YOUR BACK.

Pretty much everything at Ethan Allen is customizable whereas Bassett has a separate bench made line. That's why most of our stuff came from them (EA) and they have plenty of pieces with more contemporary style.
