I have a summer MBA internship in Houston, and I was looking for any advice on some temporary furnished housing in Houston. I will be working downtown, so the closer the better, but preferably in a nice area (maybe Rice village?). Any thoughts on where to begin?

Are you into real estate or just know of this place? I'll check it out... If my budget was a little higher, would that give me more options?

I have a real estate company in the area.

You're going to have trouble finding a place that will do a short term lease, and includes furniture.

They have executive housing for this type of thing but generally you're looking at $2,000+/month. They're also almost exclusively limited to the Galleria area.

Some options around a $1000

Post Midtown Square
Villas At River Oaks
4444 Westheimer
Gables Cityscape
Westcreek at River Oaks

All of these properties have offered short term furnished units at one time or another depending on their occupancy and availability.

how much do you think they'll tack on for a furnished unit and a 3 month lease though?

4444 ends up being about $900 a month..they basically rent the units to these guys http://www.corpapts.com/ who furnish them and then rent them to you...not sure about pricing on the other places....but you are right they are all going to sock you pretty good for a short term furnished apt

Why don't you try looking at some rice or uh students trying to sublease for the summer on fb? Might be a little difficult though especially since you're looking for a furnished apt

I was in the same situation and stayed at Archstone Memorial Heights, they do 2-3 month leases which are perfect for the summer.

What dates are you looking to move in/out? I live at Post Midtown Square in a 1bd/1ba with an upstairs study, and I am looking for someone to sublease my apartment for the summer.

I'm in law school and I will be done with finals around May 15th, and school starts back up around August 13th. So if the dates work for you and you want more info, let me know.

And I will be leaving everything, so it will be completely furnished.

Sublease is the only smart thing you can do. No way you can find a short term furnished place thats not near some crack house for less than 1,300 a month. Furnished is a biggie..especially short term.

Sublease from a student....or check out craigslist for garage apartments in montrose...some are furnished and they will sometimes do short term if they havent found any long term ppl in some time.
