very quaint, old house converted to restaurant, good prices.

Also check out Sorrento Ristorante Italiano (also on Westheimer near Michelangelos) for something a bit more glitzy.

As for Patrenella's, when the waiter waltzes up and asks us what we'd like to order without giving us a menu I'd say they have more issues than a lost cook. Their lasagna though was the best I've had. The spaghetti carbonara SUCKED.

We just ate at Patrenella's (sp?) last week and it was fantastic! I would highly recommend going there for an evening meal.

If you're not looking for something high-end but still very good, try Prego's in Rice Village.

I drive it every morning at 7am, never over 35 minutes.

The Da'Marco/Dolce Vita/Poscol family is excellent.

Splurged and went to Da'Marco for anniversary and was not disapointed. If your strictly a red sauce Italian person then really this chain is not where you need to look. Although the lamb bolognese my wife ordered was the best I've ever had.

Dolce Vita basically focuses on Pizza and more casual items while Poscol is even more casual and has smaller portions meant for multi-course dining. All great places.
