As some of you know, my wife is pregnant. What I am wondering is should I be worried about my wife's water breaking. I mean should I be laying down newspaper or getting one of those plastic couch covers (seen below). Am I going to wake up in pool of amniotic fluid if it happens overnight? Lay it to me straight Houston Board. I am freaking out.

yea, i'm under the impression that after conception, it's pretty much just waiting around and drinking beer as far as the man is concerned.

If that's the case, maybe you should worry less about her water breaking and more about the messes the baby might be making. Water breaking is a one time per baby situation where as baby vomit and potty training isn't.

Your view of "valuables" is about to get a major adjustment. Carpet, sofas, matresses and all that other stuff can be replaced. Pray for a healthy baby and worry about protecting your new "valuables".

this is not supposed to be a thread about having a healthy baby. (I already pray for that).

It is more about helping Jetch and I release some stress since our big days are coming up. We have done the waiting game and we are trying to prepare as much as possible.

My sister learned to keep her finger nails trimmed very short after she had her first baby. Apparently certain "baby-produced" subtances can get under them and be difficult to fully remove if they are long.

Tamulux - well in that case for your the sake of your valuables hopefully it happens like it did with my 2nd kiddo - wife was sitting on the throne making water - she sneezes - water breaks - she jumps in the bathtub. She grabs a big towel puts it on like a diaper - we drive to the e-room. 6 hours later healthy happy baby girl.

Sneezing right about now is always a comical affair.

As far as water breaking at the house, ive got a stack of towels handy in the house & in the car. The biggest anxiety right now is not knowing when, could be a day, could be a week, could be 2....just gotsta be ready!
