For those of you that have been, is it more like a carnival with crawfish as the main grub?

Or, like ChiliFest (with a crawfish theme) where there's tons of music and cold beer?

its basically a big clusterf*** of vendors selling overpriced crawfish & brew and heehaws buying it up becuase its the 'crawfish festival'

usually a couple good music acts to check out, but after going a few years ago, im not going back unless there was a good band.

be sure to take your pitbull so you'll fit in with the rest of the *ahem* pitbull owners.

Playing at jailhouse saloon, 4/17.

Its actually turned into a pretty good music festival if you like Texas/country/americana/local music. I know Jason Boland is playing on one weekend but thats all i got so far..

They usually pull in a few rock acts, but mostly country.

We went and caught the Burden Brothers show out there a few years back, and i pondered going to see Jesse Dayton (until i realized i could see his show on a semi-regular basis).

Needless to say id really want to have to go check out a music act to go fight the hillbilly crowd out there again, otherwise ill get my carnival food & atmosphere out of my system with a day at the Rodeo this year im sure.

That about sums it up.

It's not a crawfish festival unless you start your night at the Road and end your night in a street brawl with a bunch of guys from a neighboring high school. At least that's how it was 12 years ago.

only reason to go to one of those is if the music is something you want to see

I think they found an arm in a trash can there about 10 years ago. Good times!

Ducks hit it right on the head. Don't bring small children they will get eaten by a pit. If you go, look down at your feet don't want to get "caught" looking at the "homies" girls. You might get stabbed.

So far, the impression I get is this event is attended by pitbulls (and their owners) and "homies".

That sound about right?

Damn! I was hoping for a Chilifest like crowd. Oh well!

It's a great idea in a cool setting but unfortunately it's been over run by tatted up trash

I went last year and the comments about tatted up trash and pit bulls are dead on accurate. But I had a pretty good time the people watching was 1st class and we had a blast at some bar behind a house w/ Lone Star for $1.50
