Anyone know locations to rent a metal detector??

Realized Sunday that I lost my Aggie ring on Saturday while at beach in Galveston. Had it in a pants pocket, inside a car, but after checking all areas, sickening feeling that I picked up my pants and it dropped out of pants and car and onto sand without knowing.

Thought I would give it a shot.

About 21 years ago I was playing volleyball on a beach across from the seawall. Made an open handed block with suncreen lotioned hands. Aggie ring launched a good 30 yards into the sand.

Even though I saw about where it landed we had no joy after 20 min search. I walked up to the shops scross from the seawall and immediatly found a place that rented them.

Before I got out of the store a friend of mine ran in and said they found it.

thanks, yea that's what I'm expecting. Same beach I go to almost every weekend and know it well, and where I was located IF I even did drop on the sand, but gotta give it a shot.

Most tool rental places like sunbelt and the like have metal detector rentals...

As said above, anytime I go near water or sand, Ring #2 comes off my hand.

Know a guy who lost his water skiing. Not going to find it again after that!

Back in 2000, I had mine for a whole 3 days before I lost mine playing catch with our dog at research park pond. I threw a stick into the pond and the ring went with the stick...

After a good month of going out there and searching for it by hand with no luck. I found an old man who had underwater detection equipment, and he didn't have any luck either...

I gave up on it, but about 4 months later I got a call from another old man who found my ring in the pond. Apparently these old men in Bryan found out about my ring, and took it upon themselves to compete with each other(for bragging rights) to find my ring.

$50 later, I got my ring back...

Cool story...

It comes off when I do outdoor stuff.

wife did this once...think she just bought a cheap one at radio shack and returned it afterward (was not successful)

I know the feeling. I poured about two feet of concrete over mine accidentally. No gettin' that one back.
