Looking for someone to replace about 500 square feet of carpet with hardwoods to match the rest of the house. Anybody got a reccomendation for a company/person who could do this for a reasonable price?

If you are talking about true hardwoods, i.e. 3/4" thick, sand, stain & poly then give James Pavlicek a call (Pavlicek Hardwood Floor Service 713-899-6906). I've used him to refinish a whole house of red oak flooring and he did an excellent job. He also did a patch for me after I had some water damage on a section of floor, turned out perfect.
