He lost a very important Ring.

Hope the search goes better for you than for me. I thought I lost my ring in the parents' back yard last year. Had a guy come over with a detector...no luck.

We did find a lot of beer bottle caps though

My brother lost his wedding ring in the sand while playing volleyball. He went and bought a metel detector from Radio Shack. Before he even got the thing out of the packaging, it started beeping and he found his ring. So he just brouoght back the metal detector. He was pretty lucky.

i lost my aggie ring in my back yard a couple months ago. rented a detector from sunbelt for 20 bucks and found it.

I guess I feel better about my husband doing the same thing. We also rented one and successfully found it (after I spent hours outside looking for it while he sat inside).

Lost my Aggie Ring near Ouray, CO on a mountain pass trail on an offroad trip a few years back. Bought a metal detector from Walmart in Durango, drove 2 hours to the trail spot where I took it off to cut a tree blocking the trail, and before we could even get out of the truck, my wife saw my ring in the middle of the trail, bright as day. Took the metal detector back for a full refund and a cool story about my ring. I never put it in my pocket anymore.

i lost an aggie ring too back in the day. BOUGHT the best metal detector they had in stock at the closet radio shack....searched suppected area for ring....returned metal detector for FULL REFUND.

but hey, if renting's only 20bucks then no biggie.

oh yeah, i didn't find the ring that day...luckily some gardeners found it about 4 months later when they ripped up the entire landscaping and returned it.

Do any of you find it ironic that the method you are using to find your lost ring breaks the very code you supposedly upheld to earn it? I find it terribly ironic.

If he was closer I would offer to help him find it.

Wow, I can't believe you haven't gone looking for it yet? The longer you wait, the less likely you'll find it unless we're talking about your backyard (closed area that doesn't have a lot of people who could accidentally kick it in other places).

Harbor Freight and Northern Tool may sell them, and Academy does sell them.
