I have a friend that's had several big block Chevelles that were built in higher quality shops than the average backyard and no way I'd think it could hold 152 for 15 minutes, especially w/ a 411. Maybe I'm just old & safe and stick to motorcycles and souped up E Bikes. A buddy w/ a blown 502 68 camaro w/ a custom chassis for auto crossing could possibly do it.

I've wondered how fast it could be done, never knew there were semi-organized attempts to find out.

The dude that drove his Bugatti into the marsh down by Texas City should have tried it, though I guess being wadded up in a ball of steel at the bottom of the ship channel makes it harder to enjoy your insurance proceeds.

Someone ought to bring a few of those Isle of Man crazies over and sell some tickets.

FWIW, the IoM record is ~ 135 mph, over a ~38 mile course that is a mix of 2 lane countryside highway and main street through the middle of towns.

The loop @ 140 seems almost feasible for a pro, or a really lucky dumb *******.

I used to drive on 610 in my Altima 2.5 back in 2016, 3AM in the morning Saturday 115mph once every two weeks.

Then you know I switched to cateye 4.8 crew cab silverado. Same time, did ~95mph before computer shuts me down.

After I bought my house in 2020, I did couple times with my Infiniti G sedan, same Saturday morning 3AM same 120mph. Felt good picking up breakfast 5AM in the morning.

Never seen anybody with motorcycles. Only Lamborghini & Nissan GT-R driving 60mph… maybe they are waiting

Not gonna do that anymore. Even if I cam my '99 Silverado, it's pointless driving that fast when one gets old. I want to get a Harley though.

Absolutely. Shocked he made it through unscathed, especially at that time of day. It always backs up just south of monument. He also blew right by a DPS weigh station as well.

Then, we had a guy going 167 on 6 in north Bryan.
